Anthea climbed out of the mucky sewers, shaking herself free of the grime and muck. She quickly reached in her pocket to make sure the vial hadn't fallen anywhere.Still there She breathed, pushing up her glasses further and continuing up the ladder.
She emerged into an abandoned alleyway, graffiti marking the walls and heard...
A bang.
Adira quickly retreated back around the corner. There went her escape route. Someone had emerged from below, and their allegiance was unclear. And what was that sound?
Elisa came running through the door looking confused. “Does anyone know what is happening? There’s so many loud noises...” She shrieked as all light exited from the world.

Anthea ran out of the alleyway, looking behind. She hoped no one had seen her come out of the sewers...CRASH!
Anthrax stumbled back from the impact.
"Ow" she muttered, rubbing her head. She looked at the hazy figure across her. Was she the one causing the noise So?
Anther squinted her eyes through the pain. "Elisa? What are you doing here?"
“I’m not sure..” she replied, rubbing her eyes.
“Where are we? I don’t t remember coming here.” She tried to sit up and grunted with pain. She was covered in bruises and had several small scratches. It looked as if she’d had a seizure.

"What are you talking about?" Anthea asked, "We're in downtown Chicago. I just moved here last week, remember?"
Elisa rubbed her temples. “Oh yeah, you moved into the apartment next to mine. What are we doing here?” She groaned again and looked around. Then she froze. A figure clouded in shadow was stopped in the mouth of the alley way. They locked eyes for a moment, then the figure seemed to disappear into the walls.
Adira watched as the two girls saw each other, each seeming surprised. This must not be an ambush, then. One of them, Elisa, looked pretty beat up. Was she suffering from memory loss as well? The other, whose name had yet to be spoken, seemed to be guarding something in her pocket. While Adira was curious about what it was, it wouldn't do to get sidetracked from her mission.Elisa looked around and met eyes with her. She froze for a moment before melting into the shadows. Curses. She had to get out of there.

Anther turned to see what Elisa was looking at. "Who's she?" Anthem asked as the shadow of a girl melted away. "A... Friend?"
“I don’t know... I can’t remember. But what I do know is that I need some medication for this horrible headache,” Elisa said
Adira's communicator vibrated softly. She looked down at it and found a message from Khenan:MISSION STATUS REQUESTED. REPORT IMMEDIATELY. WHERE ARE YOU?!?!?!
She quickly replied.
GOAL ACQUIRED. EN ROUTE TO RENDEZVOUS. CITIZENS HAVE APPEARED, WILL SOON BE NEUTRALIZED.
Adira aimed her tranquilizer at the two girls before her.

Anthea heard a soft vibration and turned to see where it'd come from. She saw the girl on the roof aiming a tranquilizer right at her.Anthea tried to scream, but her voice had fled. She just gulped, ducking slightly and bringing Elisa down with her. But it wasn't enough.
A dart pierced Anthea's forehead and it all went black.
Anthea went limp on top of her. Elisa knew they were being attacked, but by whom? She heard something whizz towards her and felt is stick into her jacket. A tranquilizer dart. She pretended to go limp and caught a slice of dark cloak out of the corner of her eye. She slowly inched around under her friends body to get a better look. It was the girl she had seen in the alleyway. As soon as the figure turned around, Elisa pulled out her phone and took a picture. It wasn’t much, but it would have to do.
Adira looked at the two now-unconscious girls. They would feel like their insides were crushed my a steamroller when they woke up, but they'd be fine overall. It would only last a day or two.She heard a click and spun around. Nothing. Wait, did that one move...? No. It's fine.
Adira pulled out her communicator and updated Khenan.
CITIZENS NEUTRALIZED. ETA FIVE MINUTES.
She sped off into the night.

Anthea woke up screaming. Her insides convoluted and she felt like throwing up all the meals she'd had for the last eight months. Her wild hair was even more insane from getting rubbed against the hard cement floor below her.
Elisa sat upright in surprise. “What’s wrong? How are you feeling? Did you see that girl? I got a picture, but I don’t know how useful it will be.” Light was starting to shine on the horizon. “Wow, you were out for a looong time.”

Elisa was talking but Anthea couldn't comprehend any words. Only pain. She was twitching and screaming, wishing only for it to stop.
Anthea wasn’t responding. Elisa was growing concerned. She gently shook her shoulder. “Anthea,” she said gently, “you have to get up. We need to go home. Our parents are probably very worried”

"That was our lead, Nadine!" Roark Quade bellowed. "I gave you simple orders. You saluted and sped off. And then you walked right past a girl with the target in her pocket." Back at the rendezvous, Adira was getting the berating of a lifetime. Despite her caution, she had somehow picked up a fake vial.
"I acquired the correct target. Something happened between then and now. I do not know what, but I swear to you now that I followed orders to the letter." Adira defended fiercely. Khenan, who was watching from the shadows, winced. They both knew what came of disagreeing with Quade.
"THEN HOW DID YOU ARRIVE WITH THIS?!?!?!" the commander shook his fist that held the toy vial. "Go back now and actually acquire the target. Use the scanners we gave you to do it right this time. You monitor from here," he ordered Skyral before stomping out of the room.
"Fine. I'll get it. It's not like I spent the last week fixing the last mistake 'I' made." Adira grumbled, earning a warning look from Khenan.
"Quit talking back," he said. "It only gets you in deeper trouble with Quade."
"I don't care. Just get me back to that ridiculously roofed room."

Anthea watched the person who entered, her view tilted from the angle she was laying at. Her insides were still squirming and it felt like they were being torn to shreds, but Anthea had no voice left to scream with, just a croak.
Elisa panicked when she saw Anthea’s mouth open and close silently. “What is it? Arg! I wish you could talk!” Three she heard the cream of the glass window pane open and jerked her head up towards the ceiling. It was dark, but she could barely make out the cloaked form of the mysterious girl.
Adira opened the glass roof, startled by the loud creak. Looking down, she saw that both of the girls had seen her. Great. She couldn't shoot them again, that could result in permanent damage. She felt bad enough about the first time, anyway. ANY CHANCE OF REINFORCEMENTS? she asked Khenan.
NONE. FIGURE IT OUT.
Great. She dropped down into the room.
Elisa leaped to her feet. Anthea was helpless, so she must protect her friend from this possible threat. “Who are you?!” She demanded, pulling off her belt and brandishing it like a weapon. It was more of an accessory than anything but it would have to do if it came to it.
Adira put her hands up. "I'm not going to hurt you," she said slowly. "You just have something I need."
Elisa started. “What could I- or Anthea - have that YOU might possibly need?” She didn’t trust this girl. She’d never seen her before and she didn’t like how the girl treated her and her best friend like scared animals. Though, come to think of it, they kind of were. But she could still treat them with more dignity.

Anthea screamed. Not from the pain, though it definitely played a part. She screamed mainly because the familiar cloaked figure was descending on her and Elisa. She approached Elisa and Anthea saw Elisa spring up in shock. They were talking, but Anthea couldn't understand them. Then one of them flicked out something like a whip. Anthea assumed it was the cloaked figure, that made sense, right. She swung her foot at the girl's leg., who stumbled forward at the action.
Elisa grunted in surprise and stumbled to land on her hands and knees only inches away from the cloaked figure. The belt had been knocked out of her hand from the fall and had skittered a couple inches away. She wanted to rub her shin where she’d been kicked but was too scared to move.
