I am having trouble reading this volume one, IMO I am not enjoying the dialogue and it feels like a kid wrote it. The story is uninteresting after the sandman escapes and I do not enjoy the main character at all. However it is only the first volume..but does it ever pick up? I had high hopes for it based on popular recommendations, but I have been reading it for 2 weeks and still can't force myself to finish it. I just finished silver surfer volume 1 / 2, the prophet 1 / 2, and Y the last man and loved them. the story is rather metaphorical, a kind of fiction that takes shape like a pastiche of references and with layers of lecture. Maybe is just not the kind of stuff you enjoy. but yes, its like this all the way till the end.
