Blood GamesI know that a lot of people didn't like this installment of the Chicagoland Vamps, but I thought it was great. It gave us a more in depth look into Ethan and Meritt's relationship while moving the storyline involving the GP along. The outcome of Ethan's challenge to the head of the GP was interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing what's going to happen there.
Also, Gabriel the Alpha wolf's prophecy got mentioned again. And it's driving me CRAZY! I want to know what's going to happen with that, and how it's going to be possible for it to happen.
Anyway, the story was good, the suspense was even better, and I loved Ethan and Meritt, so I was totally happy! Can't wait for the series to continue.

It's in His KissI loved Sam. He was so sweet. I really didn't have a good sense for him in the previous books, so it was great to get to really see him in this one. Becca was definitely his perfect match and I loved the way they complimented each other.
I was sad not to see more of the lucky harbor residents. I've really come to love them. But I guess when you start getting into so many book you have to start intro ducting new characters. I'm really not gong to complain about Cole and Tanner or Olivia. They really did bring a lot to the story. And of course, seeing "Pink" was good. What a sweetheart she is.
Overall, the story was great, and I was happy to see Sam and Becca get their HEA. I hope to see more of them in the next story.

Pair 4: Elite Eight - Urban Fantasy vs. Small Town ☑Urban Fantasy: Blood & Thunder by Charlie Cochet
Theme: ★★★★. Shifter romance with military intrigue
Enjoyment: ★★★★. You know, I can't tell if I like this one better than book 1, but I did like it. There were 2 awesome scenes--The Dex loves Coffee Scene and the Chippy vs. Vaccum hose scene.
Total: ★★★★. A really good series. I can't wait for the audio to drop Jan. 2015.
☑Small Town: Let Love In by Melissa Collins (Done 11/5)
Theme: ★★★. 2 college students who have faced a tragedy find comfort in each other.
Enjoyment: ★★★. Cliche, done so many times.
Total: ★★★. I am baffled at the high reviews because it was just okay.

OMG, I know, right? I'm so loving this series. I would be done with it already, but I agreed to do a buddy read of this one starting Nov. 8, so I'll have to wait until then. The Ilona Andrews team is swiftly moving onto my favorite authors list.

This is a great mix of historical romance, it's a story set in London but mixes in elements of magic and ghosts and fantasy. The author does a good job balancing these elements but perhaps the romance gets slightly lost in there so that's why my enjoyment was a 4 out of a 5

Set in a diner in a small town this book captures all of the elements of the genre perfectly. The secondary characters, the closeness of the relationships, the issues that are dealt with. I love small town stories and it's really well written so this gets the edge in this tournament.

I read
in the last round and absolutely loved it! Enjoy!"I really liked this book too, but it unfortunately lost. It was supposedly all about the small town, but they hardly included the town at all. So, it didn't fit the theme very well, so it lost on those points. But the book was great.
WINNER - Small Town
I have to give the edge to Small Town on this pairing. Even though I think Friday Night Bites followed the genre slightly better than Summer Days, the romance frustrated me. I know it's a long running series where that relationship develops over time, but I still wanted it to happen NOW in the story. Let there be future conflict that might keep them going back and forth, but I wanted some resolution to their feelings now. Totally selfish of me because I'm impatient, but it affected my overall enjoyment of the book. I'll definitely be back for more, don't get me wrong, but if I have to say at this time which book I overall liked more, it would be Summer Days...
