What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I read this about 8-10 years ago in my school library, but have no memory of the title or author's name. From what I remember, the book was about a girl who found a magic recipe and made a potion. She dabbed this potion on her eyelids and was transported to another world (some kind of jungle or forest?). She discovered other people there who could turn into wolves using a wolf skin, so she became a wolf and joined the pack. At first, she was able to return to the real world very easily, but the more she went to this world, the harder it became to return and become human again.

I can't remember how it ended, but I do remember that there were pictures in black and white, or sepia, and that they seemed to be quite roughly drawn. It had quite a scary feel for a children's book, but I still loved it. Anyone know what I'm talking about??
