Elizabeth 『2』『4』『6』『0』 『1』 | 56 comments Loosely supervised room on the first floor of the building, where visitors can come and see the patients. Certain authorities are implied though. Only family can see the patient, and anybody more cannot see them unless that they are in the institution in case the mental illness develops.

The sky had loosened it's saturation, the baby blue slowly turning darker and more grey in color. Marlie was sitting in the waiting room, as she did every day, staring out the wide window. The room was built for visitors to stay, but nurses often took the patients here when there wasn't anywhere else to go. Bijou indigo chairs were lined up against each wall in the room, Marlie seated in one in the middle. A monitor watched over her. She sighed softly, being the only one in here. Her radiant jewels blinked in their sockets, looking bloodshot, intimidating. They flickered around the room quickly. As depressing as it sounds, this was the highlight of her day, sitting here in the empty room. Sometimes other people were in here, sometimes they weren't. It still was better then being trapped in her room. Maybe this time somebody will come to visit me. she pondered. Although her main family had died in the accident, she still had a couple aunts, uncles, and cousins. They never came to visit her, though. Probably afraid of her after she was entered in this institution. There wasn't a chance that today cold be different than any of the other days that had already passed by. without a meaning.

яєуηα™ (reynatm) | 40 comments Aaron walked down the narrow hall to the waiting room. The walls and ceilings were painted a bland white, grimly reminding him of a hospital. A pair of high heels clicked on the floor behind him. Gazing back, he looked at the nurse that was escorting him down the hallway. This woman must have been new, because Aaron had never seen her before. She wore the usual blue scrubs uniform with a badge with her name on it that read Victoria. The woman had dirty blonde hair, that was pinned up into a messy bun at the top of her head. Whenever he looked back at her, she wore one of the fake smiles all of the nurses seemed to give him. He sighed quietly, facing forward again. He finally shuffled to a stop in front of a large mahogany door, that was unfortunately very familiar. The nurse behind him took a key out of her breast pocket and reached around him. She put the bronze colored key in the handle, turned it, then opened the door. Aaron stepped into the room, and it was unsurprisingly empty, save for the girl sitting in one of the many chairs. As he went to sit in one of the chairs in the corner of the room, the new nurse, Victoria, gave the usual speech; "I'll come back to get you in an hour. Have fun with your family." It was said in a dull tone, which didn't exactly lift his spirits. What family did they think he had, anyway? His mother was dead, his father was in prison, and he didn't even know about the rest of his family. Running a hand through his hair, he sat down. The nurse left, closing the door behind her. Aaron sat motionless, staring ahead, left with the girl and the unnerving monitor.

Marlie was taking steady, noticeable breaths, as usual. When she wasn't with her breathing machine, which she was only supposed to use at night, she was informed to take calming breaths through the nose. She refused to make eye contact with the monitor watching her, she never planned on it, either. The monitor's name was Halley, the one who mostly came to check on Marlie. Greasy brown hair midway her back, big blue eyes with bags underneath them, a tall figure slouched. She was a gorgeous woman hidden with exhaustion. Marlie sighed softly, barely to be detected, even. She was aware of the other person in the room, just didn't speak. She was a bit scared she would get mad. She wasn't in the waiting room at all last week and before because she picked a fight with somebody else. She didn't want that to happen again, it made one of her few locations she's ever been to disappear. The boy in the room, she had seen before, passing in the hallways. They never talked, in the several years she has been here, however. Not even his name did he know. She had stopped looking at the window and began staring down at her shoes. The room was so depressing, but it was better than staying in her room.

яєуηα™ (reynatm) | 40 comments Aaron sat in the hard plastic chair quietly. There might as well have been a dark storm cloud thundering above his head, because that's exactly how he felt. He didn't want to be here anymore. Of course, he never wanted to be here in the first place. Who's brilliant idea was it to send him here, again? ...Oh, yeah. Those doctors at that hospital. He didn't even remember their names. He gave a frustrated sigh. Aaron glared at the waiting room door, as if he were determined to burn holes through it just from his hard gaze. Sitting here in the waiting room just made him feel even more depressed. He knew his family wasn't coming. The only thing he could do to pass the time would be staring out the window. Because that sounded like a ton of fun. Aaron looked back at the girl. He could have sworn that he'd seen her somewhere before. He simply pegged it to passing her in the hallways, or something like that. It's not like it really mattered, anyway. Whenever he met someone new, he either never saw them again, or they simply stopped talking to him.

Everleigh's nurse accompanied her to the Waiting Room, stiff and bored. She smiled widely at the nurse, and waved enthusiastically. "Goodbye!" The nurse looked at Everleigh, before walking out. Everleigh smoothed the skirt of her casual yellow dress, and skipped over to a plant against the wall of a room, placed in a ceramic vase. "How pretty.." She murmured. Everleigh's hair caused a curtain around her face, and mouth - as she silently spit out the white pill she hid under her tongue into the dirt and soil of the plant. Nobody had noticed, right?

The blonde-haired girl then spun away from the flower, and skipped over to the set of chairs in the center of the room. She sat down, and gazed around. The chairs were not filled, except for a boy and girl only. It was, in fact, the early morning, so it made sense that only three people were up and in the waiting room.

Everleigh's parents were supposed to visit her today, and Everleigh was dreading it. Her parents didn't care. But the only good thing about the visit was that her baby sister would be here, too.

Marlie exhaled a slight sigh, sounding raspy and light-headed. She always had a vertiginous way of speaking, her breath always wavering. It was never a major problem, but definitely something you could take to note. Almost everything in her life comes back to her nightmare disorder in some way.
A couple moments later, a girl had cheerfully entered the waiting room, not something expected. She vaguely knew the girl. She was also a patient, not a visitor. Marlie nodded as a brief greeting to her, but that was all she gave.
She kept her hands folded in her lap, and she looked down at them with tired, but still gorgeous eyes. The two people didn't seem to want a conversation, but that only made her want to have a conversation, even though she was normally very quiet. "D-do you have family coming today?" she asked nervously, not exactly to a specific person. The end of her sentence ended high-pitched, making the speech sound awkward. She brushed her inky hair back to make it seem more casual. She didn't move her intimidating gaze on her hands ONCE.
She felt like she had asked the wrong question.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

"Oh, yes!" Everleigh smiled again, standing up and sitting in the seat next to Marlie. "My mother, father, and baby sister will be here any minute!" After a beat, she stuck her pale hand out to the girl. "Everleigh Cassandra Parker."

message 11: by [deleted user] (last edited Nov 22, 2014 08:59PM) (new)

Marley nodded, rather overwhelmed by the sudden, enthusiastic reply. "Oh," was all that escaped her mouth. She was surprised, some people have come and gone at the asylum, wanting to pick fights just to feel better about themselves. This girl wanted anything but a fight. Marlie did not shake her hand, but returned a introduction. "Um...M-Marley...," she stammered.

яєуηα™ (reynatm) | 40 comments Aaron was startled out of his thoughts as the door opened once again and a cheerful looking girl burst through the door. Her mood wasn't really helping his own. He flicked his eyes away from the girl and stared at the shiny tiled floor. He lightly tugged at the ends of his shirt sleeves. They were much to short in his opinion, and it made him feel self conscious. His ears perked up as one of the girl's asked a question. He glared again and stared straight forward. He opted for staying silent. He listened to the girl happily give her own reply, and couldn't help but feel a little envious.

Marley nodded abruptly and held her stare on her white-ish hands ahead of her, having barely any circulation. She looked like she was ignoring Everleigh's comment, but she definitely heard it. Simply she just couldn't conjure a response.. She was never good with talking. It wasn't a strength of hers. It must be nice having people willing to see you here. she pondered. would Marley like it if her kin came to see her? Welcome her, give away several embraces, note how much they missed her... She bit her lip, not really sure what she should say anymore. It was somebody else's turn to speak. It took her a little bit to realize that she bit down on her lip so hard that it drew blood. She began wiping away the excess with her long sleeve shirt, continuing to do so every 30 seconds or so.

message 18: by яєуηα™ (new)

яєуηα™ (reynatm) | 40 comments Aaron tapped a finger on his thigh in boredom. He was stuck in a room listening to the conversation of the other two with nothing else to do. It's not like he was intentionally listening in on their conversation- what else was there to do, anyway? Aaron pulled his knees up to his chest, scooting back in the chair so he could fit. Weren't there usually books or magazines in a waiting room? Aaron gave the room a quick scan, but came up with nothing. He frowned in annoyance. He peeked at the monitor standing by the door. She looked just as bored as he felt.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

"So why are you guys here?" Everleigh asked, addressing both Marlie and the guy sitting a few rows away. "In this asylum place, I mean."

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Marlie just shrugged her shoulders and shot a cold glance at Everleigh. What irked her is that the girl talked so simply and casually about it. Just an easy question on WHY WE'VE GONE CRAZY was a thought that skimmed through Marlie's mind. She didn't reply any more than her edgy shrug. She looked away from Everleigh and now fixed her gaze on the floor. She waited to see if the guy would respond. She hoped so.

message 21: by яєуηα™ (new)

яєуηα™ (reynatm) | 40 comments Aaron flinched at the chipper girl's question. Unfortunately, it sounded as if she were talking to him, too. Aaron could not express how much he did not want to answer that question. For some reason, it reminded him of a prisoner asking a fellow criminal what he did to get into jail. "Why are you here?" He shot back at her in a sardonic tone. He glared at the girl, feeling irritated. What did this girl expect him to say? To him, the question felt a little too personal.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Everleigh was a strange person. She hid many things, but at the same was an outspoken, open person who said everything- well, most things, running in her mind. But apparently these people thought the question was too personal. Ev shrugged before replying to the boy, "Anorexia, bipolar disorder, depression, suicidal. Oh, and crazy. Bonkers. That's what they say." Laughing, she said in a lowered voice, "I don't believe them though." Silence. "The doctors thought it was best if they sent me here."

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Marlie turned herself away from the conversation, not wanting to be a part of them talking. Her brilliant blue eyes closed, wanting to calm herself down. Everleigh seemed like to be the only one who wouldn't feel sensitive answering that question. Marlie definitely didn't want to answer it.

Emily was pushed into the waiting room by a nurse. She was surprised that other people were already there. "Sit down," the nurse loosely instructed, but it sounded monotone and rather boring. Emily stayed still in her spot in the middle of the room before sitting down after a few seconds obediently.
"Visitors will be arriving in 15 minutes or less. I trust you'll behave." the nurse said, and she glanced at the monitor in the room watching Marlie, hoping she could keep an eye out for Emily, as well. "Have fun." The nurse gave a sympathetic smile, but it looked like her normal smile. It was the only smile Emily has seen that nurse do.
Emily stood back up once the nurse sauntered back down the hallway, the plastic chair bothering her. She leaned against the wall, obviously bored. Only once in a while did she have a visitor. It's usually just a great aunt or a second-cousin coming in because they were heading to work or something. Her stare fixed its way around the room, noting each patient. She's probably made hasty conversation with a few of them before. "Have family coming today?" she asked them, because of the wary silence. "Hey, bedtime's over." She waved a hand in front of the girl, Marlie's, face, noticing she had kept her eyes closed. She snickered a bit.

He only looked back up when he heard the door open once again. Aaron warily looked over his shoulder to see another girl be forced into the room. When she asked the same question about families, Aaron rolled his eyes again, feeling extremely cynical. He opted to stay silent again.

Elizabeth 『2』『4』『6』『0』 『1』 | 56 comments A purposefully artificial look of offence revealed on Emily's face. "Well, somebody seems to be in a wonderful mood today. And I'm fine, thank you for asking," she said all of this sarcastically, now making it a mental goal to make the girl mad. She smiled sweetly and innocently and moved on to somebody else in the room.
"Good morning! I'm Emily, and you are?" she quickly stuck out a hand to the girl who had greeted her in a friendly manner. She seemed nice.
She hasn't met anybody at the asylum yet. She had the slightest little bit of Nitrous Oxide this morning, due to the fact that she tried to strangle a nurse two nights ago. That explains her enthusiasm. Any time other than this, she'll be downright cold and aggressive. The Nitrous Oxide was given to her the smallest bit once a day, trying to make her feel no pain on the recent surgeries when she takes trips to the nearby hospital.

message 41: by яєуηα™ (new)

яєуηα™ (reynatm) | 40 comments Aaron stared at the girl in disbelief. Was she trying to start a fight, or something? He shrank in on himself, as if attempting to make himself invisible. Aaron tried to do his best to tune out their conversations. He shifted his gaze to the window closest to him. The sun had disappeared behind the clouds, making it darker than usual outside. Unfortunately, the windows were bolted down. Aaron knew the only way to get through one was to break. Regrettably, the only reason he knew this, was because he had a mental breakdown within the first year of staying at the mental institute. Aaron could vaguely remember throwing one of the plastic chairs at the glass, nurses and doctors grabbing him, blood, and then...well, the sedatives blurred whatever had happened afterwords.

Marley's breath sped up because of her anger. She's teasing you, calm down... she assured herself. "Sorry." she murmured in almost to the girl, not sure what else she should say. Her voice was hard to be heard. She turned her head away from the girl and back to the window, like when she first entered the room.

Elizabeth 『2』『4』『6』『0』 『1』 | 56 comments "And a great pleasure to meet you, too," she replied in a smooth way to Everleigh. She shook her hand quickly before leaning back against the wall.
"Hm, what did you say? ...Sorry? Sorry for what?" Emily said to the other girl who was obviously irritated by her. The other guy in the room knew it, too. She smirked the slightest bit in accomplishment.

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

Marley tucked her knees into her chest, trying to stay away from a negative conversation, but this was difficult. "S-sorry for...for both-bothering you..." she stammered, scarcely to be detected by anybody. She slowed down her breathing, attempting to make herself tranquil. She felt almost completely helpless right now. But she's always felt like she couldn't do anything since she came to the institution. And that was almost a decade ago.

Especially with this girl who was trying to start an argument. Looking back at them, he could see the faint ghost of a smirk across the dark-haired girl's face. That made him frown. What was she getting out of this? Wasn't life already depressing enough for all of them?

Elizabeth 『2』『4』『6』『0』 『1』 | 56 comments "Oh, no, you are fine. I should be sorry, you know? I didn't know we took naps right after we had a good 12 hours of sleep," Emily replied casually, her wicked smile gradually growing. She felt a sense of pride, doing this. Letting everybody know that they shouldn't mess with her. Besides, harsh things were going on in her life, and this entertainment got her somewhere. She actually forgot about her past when she played around with others' emotions.
