Hollows Read-along to AMERICAN DEMON discussion

We have been talking about the church quite a bit at the FB page Cincy Underground. I doubt I will ever fully grasp the layout. ;)
Along the same lines are amulets. I understand why authors do not always provide a great deal of detail so we can fill in the blanks on our own. But, I need photos, explanations, and preferably charts. Amulets are dics. But, they go around your neck. So, is there a hole in the center? Are they then strung on a leather strand? The material used for them to hang around the neck is something I don't remember ever seeing.

I always pictured them as little decorative wooden disc, the size of a large charm. It would have a hole and hang on a nonmetal string or thong. Leather thong if you need to keep it on, string if you need to take it off.

I think they are like the John Wick's the kind they use to put their blood in for oath taking.

I picture a solid piece of round wood, that looks like the rings of a tree, but a branch or something not too thick, only about 2 inches, with a small hole carved into it and a leather/cord/ribbon/string looped through it.

I need to watch John Wick! Apparently, I have watched it, but can't remember anything about it. :)

ohhhhhhh, I never thought of it like that. Which is nutty, because I have an amulet like that. I gave it to my elder son. It has Yggdrasil on one side and runes on the other.
