LEXICAL FIELD OF LOVE
- I read the book on the kindle English edition and was amused and intrigued when on p.85 and 86 , Philippe Besson beats around the bush to find the right word to express his feelings for Thomas when the truth of it is that it's simply 'to be in love' .
- He lists the following expressions: smitten, infatuated, obsessed, seduced, taken with , blinded, disturbed .
- I have a question to members who read the French original version. What are the corresponding French expressions ?

So finally answer to my question is (and thank you Alisa!) is attendri/SMITTEN - charmé/INFATUATED - troublé/ OBSESSED - séduit /SEDUCED - épris /TAKEN WITH aveuglé/ BLINDED - perturbé/ DISTURBED - avoir le béguin/ HAVING A CRUSH - j'étais amoureux /I WAS IN LOVE

Jacqueline Dubois I don't know about infatuated, I figured it was stronger than simply 'charmé' / for me 'charmé' is rather 'pleased' or 'under the spell' than infatuated, however we're talking of love so ...
Alisa Bearov Landrum Jacqueline Dubois I agree that the word charmé has the least successful of the English words.
