Hello,Yes, I read it and it captured my heart. Jaden and his adoptive parents seemed quite real to me with their problems and messed up but hopeful lives. I haven't read The Crossing and have lots of others to read, but Half a World Away has wonderful writing although I've read some negative reviews that question the adoption process and other reviews that are very skeptical about the parents' decision at the end. But on both counts, to me, the book seemed plausible. There has to be something just a bit over-the-top about adoption and adoptive parents who look for kids. I've been there -- we didn't go to another country but ended up with seven kids total, and some people would have questioned our "story" too.

Reving--The Crossing or The Crossover?

Anyone read this? I loved it. But again, The Crossing is still my pick!
