Best of luck, Jessika!

Hope you enjoy EXTREMELY LOUD & INCREDIBLY CLOSE, it's such a good book.
And I can't wait to read CHASERS OF THE LIGHT! Looks awesome.

Jessika: I totally understand. I blame my graduate students...they gave me a gift certificate for Half-Price Books. I came home with six new-to-me books. But they don't count, right? Because I didn't actually buy them. They were gifts. But...it opened the gates. Just bought four from the Friends of the Library Bookstore (as well as bringing home a checked-out book). I fell off the wagon too. I caught the Boxing Day sale at The Book Outlet and couldn't pass up the deals.
Maybe February we'll do better, right?
I've now bought 13 which wipes out the 10 that I've read off the mountain (I've read 15, but that includes library and a reread)....So, yes, must read more--I know there's no way I won't buy them. :-)

Hope you come out of it soon!
My February hasn't started off as strong as January. I've added to my list, but not as much as I need to.

You're making fantastic progress, though--congrats! :)
Go, Jessika, go!
And....speaking of library book sales. I visited my local one yesterday. And walked out with....wait for it...40. Yes. Four-Zero. So much for making a dent in my TBR pile by reading from the stacks.
Some kind soul had donated a boatload of vintage mysteries (those are my specific kryptonite) and it took every ounce of will power I own to not walk out with all five boxes of them. Each box probably had 40 in them.

Congrats on your progress so far! Here's to keeping on track!
And...I joined you for an influx of books yesterday. One of the library branches had a book sale and I walked out with 22 books (23, actually, but one wound up being a duplicate) for under $6.

2/5 stars, acquired 8/2013. Hmm, maybe I'm not cut out for Austen... Maybe I should just stick to the movie versions, haha!"
There are a few Austens that I feel like that on (Emma and Sense & Sensibility). Northanger Abbey is one of my favorites, so I'm sorry it didn't work well for you.

2/5 stars, added to GR 4/2012 but I'm pretty sure we got this as a wedding gift in 2009. I thought it was going to be some kind of devotional book..."
That is hard to take when you find out that someone giving advice (on anything) doesn't follow through on what they tell other people is the way to do things.

Jessika: Congratulations! You're the Checkpoint #2 drawing winner! I tried to message you--but GR tells me I can't. If you'll send me an email at phryne1969 AT gmail DOT com, I'll send you the prize list to choose from.

Getting closer...

No need to consider it padding. If it was published as a stand-alone, it counts!
