Susanna (jb_slasher) Our September group read will be Stieg Larsson's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo which is the first book in the Millennium trilogy. I was thinking if there is any interest in the idea that we could have two books for October and November's group reads.

In October we could read The Girl Who Played with Fire (Millennium, #2) and we would also nominate for October as we would normally. This way those who would like to read the trilogy could read it with the group, and others could vote for another book.

Same thing in November. I understand that The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest (Millennium, #3) won't be out in the US until October so there would be plenty of time to acquire the book. We would also nominate for November as we would normally.

Feel free to share any thoughts on this idea: good, bad, excellent, horrible? :)

Trey (toughhouserook) Sounds like a good idea, and is a way for us all to finish the trilogy.

Susanna (jb_slasher) Welcome Margarette :)

I guess there should be a general announcement post where these things could be found. I'll look into it.

There are no specific dates for nominations but the post is usually created after we start reading a new book. So the nomination post for the October book will be up before the end of the month. I'm thinking sometime next week to give the group some time to just concentrate on reading the September book.

You are correct, the reading period is from 15th to 15th. It is a little confusing but the reason we chose the middle of the month was because the group was started at the end of the month and we got the nominations going fast but still we were well into August before voting ended. I've seen it in other groups as well so that's where the idea came from.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. The nominations for October will be open soon and we'll nominate for a week so you should get a word in. I hope you enjoy your stay :)

Margarette | 10 comments Thanks for the response, how long has the club been around? Do you have a list of previously read books, or a specific genre? I read just about anything.

message 8: by Susanna (new)

Susanna (jb_slasher) The group was created at the end of July this year so we're fairly new. There is no list of previously read books as of yet since we've only read one so far :) We haven't specified any genres so anything goes.

Silver Yes that sounds like a good idea, it allows those who want to, continue the trilogy while giving memebers who may not have read the first book and may not be interested in it to still have an oppertunity for something new next month.
