It was a good day, Meg decided as the wind brushed up against the windows. The birds were flying back and the Krasa Castle seemed cheerful, as if the weather changed all the glum attitudes. Being a Lady-In-Waiting caused her to be busy and the few moments she had off were spent making her own gown for the upcoming Krasa Day Ball. She was excited, as was everyone else, but she knew would most likely be on working during the ball. But if her Princess allowed her to attend, no one could order her not to. Also, she was not a housemaid, and wasn't that their job? If her Princess was to attend the ball, maybe she could celebrate after she prepared her. Meg didn't want to get her hopes up, so she went back to focusing on the pastel gown she was preparing. Sitting at the table in the middle of the sewing room made her feel comfortable. The room was familiar and felt more like her own space than her room. Meg continued to work as the snow began to melt under the heat of the sun.
Oili ran up with a sketch pad in hand as she made er way to the sewing room. She had a lot to do. Being a lady in waiting. Her Miss wanted a lovely gown and after all the designing and finally figuring out what she wanted she realized it would take a lot more time then he thought! She opened the door not watching where she was going. She bumped and crashed down to her knees and sighed. Her sketch pad scattered out along the floor. She was officially stressed....
Meg heard the door open, but by the time she could look up no one was there. She glanced around and soon saw a maid that she recognized on the floor. She must have fell. Her wonderful sketches were scattered on the floor and Meg couldn't help but feel bad for her. She thought of her name and asked if she needed any help.
"Are you alright, Oili? Do you need any help?" Meg asked as she stood up, ready to help her get up.
The gown she was sewing for the Krasa Day Ball was no where near to being done, and the ball seemed to be right around the corner. Since she had no calendar she guess she would have few days left to complete the gown. Meg decided she would give up on making her own dress and attending the ball completely, for her Princesses attire was more important than her own happiness. No sadness came though when she knew she would not have time to work on her own dress. She then thought that the maid that fell barely had her sketches completed. Maybe she wasn't the only one running behind.
Oili sighed heavily her head hung. "So much to do in little time..." She mumbled. "I'm fine. Thank you Meg." She whispered. Like Meg, Oili couldn't work on her dress. Not with the time she had. She barely had time to start and finish the dress that she needed to make for her Princess. She peeked up at Meg and smiled. "You look lovely," she commented and gathered her things and stood finally gaining her balance. Maybe some point in the future she would become less stressed and finish the dress with ease. Or so she hoped
"Why, thank you," Meg replied softly. "Those are some lovely sketches you have there. I hope my Princess will be happy with what I have. I wish they would have told use earlier. So much to get done in several days. I hear the theme is spring this year, or something like that."
She glanced at her work and sighed. Meg didn't want to finish the dress. All she wanted was to work on her beautiful evening gown, that would probably be put away until next years ball. But by that time the pastel colored gowns would no longer be the style, so all that work would go to waste. Meg considered giving it to her Princess, so her gown wouldn't be thrown out or stuffed in her trunk, but then realized it probably wouldn't fit her perfectly.
Meg figured if she worked until lunch time she could finish most of the sparkle beading. She knew in the end the green gown would look stunning on her Princess, but to finish it she would need to stay up past the usual time she went to bed.
