I am reading with you this month. This book has been on my TBR for more than a year and I never could find time to read it. I am really excited to be finally reading it. That is the problem with me and nonfiction. Unless it is for a book club, I rarely read them. Interestingly, I most of the time also like them.
I also like narrative nonfiction and especially biographies. I also like essays but I cannot read long essay books without giving a break or reading them with another fiction book.
My least favorite nofiction books are self-help books because most of the time, I find them unoriginal and very similiar to each other.
I tend to read more fiction but also like biographies, memoirs and nonfiction that is written like fiction. I am looking forward to reading and discussing The Glass Castle this month.
I'm looking forward to popping in to see what everyone thinks of The Glass Castle. It's been a number of years since I read it and this will help jog my memory. I do remember that I really liked it and that I was just appalled at the parents most of the time.
I’m here! This physical copy has been sitting on my shelf for quite a while, so this is the push I needed to get it read!
I'm here! I don't read a lot of nonfiction...mostly Christian nonfiction. Looking forward to reading this!
On Krista's blog I said I wasn't going to join in the group this month because I read the book a few years back. But I changed my mind because this group is so much fun and I don't want to miss out on any discussion.I don't read a lot fiction but I do like to participate in non-fiction November. Like Krista,"I tend to like narrative nonfiction or ones that read like fiction". I really don't like self help books. I know I need help so I get them from the library and take them back unread. Hahahaha!
Happy November reading everyone.
I love reading non fiction and find myself gravitating to it more and more. I like reading all kinds but particularly like reading about how medicine has developed over the years, natural history, and Christian non fiction.I read The Glass Castle several years ago so it will be fun to refresh my memory on this one.
I thought I posted but maybe not. Anyway, I’ll be reading but need to finish my first nonfiction for IRL book club. Looking forward to this one...the movie looked interesting as well but I’ve not seen it either. Not a big nonfiction fan but it’s November so...
I am here. Haven't been in awhile but I am all in for non-fiction November. I also figured what better way to get back to my Goodreads group. Very excited to get back to discussing books have been on and off for the last few months. I have had this book for probably the last two years, so I am happy to start this book.
Hi Krista, This is my 2nd non-fiction november. I only read 4 last year but have set myself a higher tbr this year. I usually read nonfiction all year (mostly spiritual, cookbooks & biographies). This is my 1st time participating in your book club.
The Glass Castle was in my top three books read last year. I listened to the audiobook and loved it (read by author). I now have a HB copy on my shelf as a result so I’m tempted to read it again with you guys. 😊I’m a big fan of memoir and biography. Two of my top three books last year were memoir.
Either way, I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

Do you read a lot of nonfiction? Do you have a favorite genre within nonfiction? I tend to like narrative nonfiction or ones that read like fiction. If it gets too academic or dry I just lose interest. I have found I do enjoy memoirs and some biographies.
