"Read this book around 2006. It's a mystery/romance. The main character is a female mechanic whose name is Michael (her father wanted a boy not a girl). Her father is a drunk. Her college age sister's car is found abbandoned and the sister is missing. Michael gets involved with the officer investigating her sister's disapearance. Sister's dead body is found. Michael goes to stay with a couple only to find out the husband was having an affair with her sister. Either the husband or wife killed Michael's sister."
