My school has no bullies, but I went to a school with bullies once. I HATE bullies.

Hey.
I'm maybe not quite the best fit for this group, as I am an adult, don't really have much of a social life right now, so I don't currently get bullied at all.
However, I spent my whole childhood and young teen life a victim of intense bullying - by both the kids around me, as well as, in part, my own family. And I still suffer the consequences of that.

So it is a topic I do know a thing or two about, and who knows, maybe I can contribute, and even help, every now and then?

Ebony (ebbie_magic) | 14 comments My friend G ( I can't say her hole name ) and I are being bullied by are best friend Claire's boyfriend I don't know what to do places some one help, i went to the teacher for help but it made things worst then ever, but he make Claire happy i don't want to be a mean b**** to her about him so what can I do? I need some help

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Have you, not in a mean way or anything but in a normal, nice way, talked to Claire about it? If not, you should.
First of all, friendships are usually stronger, more important than relationships, especially when you're rather young, which I assume you are.
Second of all, maybe she can just talk some sense into him, even without having to choose between you two and him. Often, these things resolve themselves through confrontation. Maybe he doesn't realize exactly what he's doing and even if he is, maybe just his girlfriend telling him she doesn't approve of how he's treating her friends can already make him think twice in the future.

Talking to Claire definitely should be the first step to take. Don't do it in a way that makes it seem like you want him gone and also don't do it in a way that puts the guilt on her. Just hang out with her a little and bring up her boyfriend and your problems with him and see what happens.

Ebony (ebbie_magic) | 14 comments I didn't end up talking to Claire my friends told me when they tried to talk to her about it she doesn't want hear it and she doesn't like tell him what to do, so what now?

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Confront someone you actually trust to deal with the problem, other wise it's just going to get worse.

Ebony (ebbie_magic) | 14 comments Ok I will have a go that you! XD

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Your welcome

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Well... I'd still try to talk to her, really. And else I'd evaluate your friendship to her, if she cares so little about your feelings. Or at least stop hanging out with her for a while and maybe that'll make her think about it a bit more.

I mean, you mentioned Claire is your best friend so her to just dismiss your feelings like that is... not very nice, to say the least.

Ya, I have helped someone with bullying, and may I just say, IGNORE HIM. And if THAT doesn't work, confront them, even if the don't want to hear it. And if they punch you or something, RETURN THE FAVOR.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

The most important thing, I think, is just that you make clear they know exactly how they feel and have a chance to feel sympathy, without them feeling too attacked themselves.
Don't make Claire feel like you're trying to take away her happiness, like you want her to break up with her boyfriend because you don't think she deserves one; or because you're jealous or whatever. Try not to turn this into a huge cat fight where each side misunderstands the other.

Do ignore him if you can, if it's merely some small teasing and whatnot. He might get bored and it is rarely helpful to make a huge deal out of small things but if it does hurt you and ignoring doesn't work then yes, I would suggest doing what has been said before, and talk about it. Like I said, not in too much of an attacking way, but in a way that makes it clear to them that you are hurt.

It's tough to balance it, neither attacking or overreacting, nor just taking and swallowing it all, but you can do it.

Ebony (ebbie_magic) | 14 comments I tryed to talk to Claire but everyone told me not to, because I'm not the first and Claire is getting stick of it and she thinks it her fault. so what now?

Willow (wigglewigglewiggle) | 22 comments Mod
Do not listen to what other people are telling you to do!!! that's what I do and I am PERFECTLY FINE!!! do what you think is best, but I really think you should talk to her. But, hey if everyone is telling you not to talk to her, don't. TALK TO THE PERSON WHO IS BULLYING YOU!!! and ignore him when he starts being a jerk. then he will eventually go away. :)
