Just dropping this one off here as a suggestion for anyone who might be looking. It's my selection choice for this task.

by J.R.R. Tolkien

Thank you.

1) Since the rules say that two books of under 100 pages can be used for poetry (using Fall 2014 since no new rules have been posted), would the two books need to be by the same author? Or would any two books with genre "Poetry" that add up to 100+ pages work?
2) Where the Island Sleeps Like a Wing: Selected Poetry does not have any genres listed on the book page, but the subtitle of the book is "Selected Poetry". Would that be acceptable, or does it have to be a book which enough people have shelved to create genres?

I know, that was mean. Our family (who live up near, Dee) tell us that all the time this time of year..... *evil grin*

The two books of poetry do not need to be by the same author. Any two books that have the genre "Poetry" on their main pages that add up to 100+ pages will work.
As for your second question, no, sorry. The genre must appear on the main page.

We, on the other hand, get great consolation by talking to my husband's uncle, who lives in North Dakota. The weather is always worse there than here in Virginia!

its my first time coming up with this challange, so there might be a lot of stuff I don't know yet... Don't be to annoyed ^^
Would this book fit in for this task?

And I also wanted to know, if this books still counts when I read already 96 pages out of 316 pages, which I read mostly before November (althoug my last update was to day). I'm absolutly no fan of poetry and this is one of the very few books that would fit in Oo"

Thank you."
I listened to the audiobook of The Poets' Corner: The One-and-Only Poetry Book for the Whole Family for the fall challenge. I'm not a huge fan of poetry but enjoyed this one. I

Lovers of the classics can choose from Paradise Lost, Beowulf and other classics written in verse.

Would this book fit in for this task? The Complete Winnie-the-Pooh"
No, sorry, Winnie the Pooh books do not meet the criteria necessary for children's books as set out in the Rules of the Challenge.

Please provide a link to the book you are asking about. You can find out how to do that here: Add book/author & add cover

Great resource. Thanks, Teri-K. And thank you for providing the link, Karen Michele!
As with any list, please make sure the book you choose actually fits the task (that the genre 'poetry' is still on the book's main page) and that it fits the Rules of the Challenge" in general.

and
Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats (1939) by T.S. Eliot (Hardcover, 56 pages)
Different authors, different subjects, different styles; and, page count of 56 + 56 = 112.
Would that be acceptable?

Has "childrens" on main page and is NOT in AR bookfinder"
Book Concierge is correct. The only task this book could be used for is 5.10 (in conjunction with another poetry book to make it add up to 100+ pages).

The idea is sound. However, Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats can't be used for this task (see post above) so you'd need another book to pair with Howl and Other Poems (poetry genre noted) to bring it up to 100 pages.

OK thanks for quick reply!

The Iliad
Both have poetry on their page! I last read The Iliad in 2001 and I last read The Odyssey back in the 1970s so maybe I'll do a re-read of these.

They do and how fitting! ;-)

Researching........... will get back to you shortly.......

No rush. We are reading the first 3 of the War of the Roses plays. I have finished Richard II but I won't read Henry IV, Part 1 until the new challenge starts :-)

Yes, that works.

If you go to the main page of a book, like Poisoned Apples: Poems for You, My Pretty, on the far right hand side of the page you'll see "Genres" and there are usually 5 or so listed for each book.
It's usually beneath "Readers also Enjoyed" and some sort of advertisement.
The ones that are listed there are the "Main Page Genres" that you'll see mentioned for tasks.

No prob! Last season I was the one wondering where to find all the things. :)
Also "Alone" is things like "Fiction" Or "Classics"
"Embedded" is "Adademic > Read for School" or "Literature > Classics"

Yes, that would work.

Ghosting"

The Nine Muses of the Greek Mythology were deities that gave artists, philosophers and individuals the necessary inspiration for creation. Calliope was the muse of epic poetry. Read a book with the genre "Poetry" on its main page. The genre may be stand alone or embedded.
