Derek walked into the bookstore, glancing around for the textbook he needed.

Alexia was hiding behind a shelf, flipping through a book.

Derek scanned the shelves for the book he needed.

Alexia sighed and put the book up.

Derek walked backwards, eyes on the shelves...and straight into Alexia.

Alexia stumbled back. "Hey! Watch where you're going!"

Derek tripped over his feet and toppled to the ground. "Ow!" he exclaimed. Derek picked himself up. "Why, hello again. Sorry about that..."

"It's okay," Alexia said. She looked at the bookshelf and sighed.

"What's wrong?" Derek asked.

"I couldn't find the book I was looking for," Alexia said.

Derek winced sympathetically. "That sucks. I'm looking for something for school."

"Oh?" Alexia asked.

Derek nodded. "Yeah. I'm in a creative writing class, and we needed to pick up a textbook. Now that I think about it though, textbooks are on the complete opposite side of the store...ugh. We are gonna need A Tale of Two Cities for next semester. Now's as good a time as any to look around, I guess..."

"I just saw it over there," Alexia pointed.

"Right. Okay, then. Thanks," Derek said. He started heading in the direction of where Alexia had pointed, then turned back. "What book were you looking for?"

Alexia sighed. "I'd seen a book over here before and it'd caught my eye. I forgot the name, so I was just looking. I guess someone bought it already."

"What did it look like?"

"Uh, it had a bluish color," Alexia said.

((Don't you have school?))

((You are extremely nosy. if you must know, I'm on my way to a doctor's office))

"Do you remember what it was about?" Derek quizzed.

"Uh-" Alexia sighed. "I have a bad memory."

((Well, if there's a holiday or something then I might be able to weasel out of school for today.))

((Nope. I'm just at the doctor's))

((Awwww. That means I have school. And, I'm being nosy again. Why are you at the doctors?))

((Because reasons.))

Derek smirked. "If you can't remember, it must not have been that good. Anyways, I'm gonna go get my books..."

"Yeah, okay," Alexia said.

Derek waved and walked away.

((I'm heading back into school now. Bye.))

Alexia frowned at the shelf again before walking out.

Alexia walked into the bookstore, humming under her breath.

Derek was sitting towards the back of the room, scribbling something on a pad of paper.

Alexia walked towards the back of the room, still humming. She ran her fingers along the spines of the books.

Derek pushed his hair out of his face, then continued the movement of his pencil.

Alexia sighed and glanced around. When her gaze landed on Derek she grinned. "Hello."

Derek looked up from his work, startled. "Oh...hi." He closed the pad of paper, shoving it back in his bag.

"Whatcha doing?" Alexia asked, sitting down next to him.

"Oh. Nothing," Derek said, his cheeks tinging red.

"Obviously not, but whatever," Alexia said.

"It's just...it's kind of embarrassing," Derek admitted.
