Welcome to The Governess Game Buddy Read Discussion thread! This thread officially opens on November 18th and anyone can join at any time. Please keep in mind that spoilers are allowed in this thread but only up to the group's current reading place. Do not spoil the book if you've read further than the group. Any extra days can be used to catch up!

Each week we will be reading by chapters. The suggested Buddy Read discussion schedule is as follows:

★ From these three I like the most Nicola, she's being cautious and realistic; I mean yes we are reading a light historical romance book so we know serious shit won't happen but he could be a creep and Alex could need a deadbolt on her door.
★ I had to google Regency dresses to be sure that what I was imagining was indeed correct, and now that I confirmed that I have to ask: how is he so sure her ass is amazing? I mean yes he could see the shape but the dress doesn't give me perfect ass vibes 😂
★ 😂 These girls with Millicent's funerals.

So far I don't really know how to feel about it. I like it but less than the previous book because that one had such fun dialogues and thoughts. This one sounds more like the historical romances I've read which is okay... just the first book raised the expectations.

★ I love it how she assumes something and it's so not true 😂 I'm talking about chapter 9 where she thought he had company.
★ It's so nice how Alex finally found a way to work with the girls and to teach them what she's supposed to but in her own way. Also the girls tying them 😂 so great.
★ Daisy and her enthusiasm for diseases is disturbing but also adorable in a weird way (hide spoiler)]

I planed on stopping after finishing chapter 14, but... it's so damn addicting! I finished chapter 19 and that's where I'm stopping for tonight.

I finished it. I think I wasn't that much in the mood for it tonight because I laughed at some things but I wasn't that interested in it. With that being said, I still enjoyed it more than the first book even thought the Duchess had great humor.

Alright, I finally started this yesterday as well and I must say I really like it so far! Especially the morbidity of those girls XD wonderful!!!

(view spoiler)[I like how Alexandra is born in the Philippines and is half Filipino. It’s was quite unexpected and makes me root for her more.

Nicola and Penny are much the opposites of each other when it comes to romance that it’s like having the angel and the devil at Alex’s shoulders telling her what she shouldn’t and should do. 😂

Poor Millicent with all its multiple and creative deaths.

Their constant rejection of each other just builds up the tension.

So, after I spent the entire day reading QoN yesterday, I will finally go back into the Governess Game today! Yay <3

I am finally done with TQoN and can finally give this one my attention <3

I really. Really. Really. Love Alexandra! She has her own charm that different from Emma and I REALLY ENJOY the fact that she's half Filipino! Like I was not expecting that at all! I was so shook. This is the second time I've been bamboozled by a filipino main character in fiction and the first one didn't even happen that long ago. Idk what to do with myself lmao.

Also, I love Chase. He's an lecherous idiot but he's a very charming one and the very first time we met him, he woke up just to indulge these two girls in their VERY WEIRD RITUALS and that put him immediately in the "I love him" column.

And I'm still so very baffled by Daisy lmao

I finished it.... 5 stars for this masterpiece. I LOVEDDDDD IT. Sad that’s its over but I’m sure we will see them again in the 3rd book. I’m also very excited to read an entire book about miss Penelope and all her animals.

So, can we just address what a genius Alex is?? Like, the way she handled those girls?? And she didn't even care whether Chase would be okay with that XD

She really is! Her patience is so epic?? I don't have such patience but I am stubborn and I probably would have persisted just like she did but it probably wouldn't be as effective as she her lmao!

I'm aaaalmost done! I have 5 and a half chapters left and I'm REALLY loving Alex' attitude so much! Like she's giving him so much shit for being an idiot! Rightly so! YOU GO, GIRL! YOU TELL HIM!

I love her so much! And I love Chase tooooo but I'll reserve that discussion for when Vanessa gets there! I have lost all track of which scene happened in which chapter because I finally switched to audiobook lmao!
