ALL THE BOOKS! discussion

My favorite way to find new books is from people suggesting them, so this is my attempt at getting new books to add to my reading list.

Currently, one of my favorite books is Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood. Suggested to me by my best friend, I read it in a day or two.

Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson. :D

Oryx and Crake was amazing - have you read the sequels, The Year of the Flood and MaddAddam? They are also amazing.

I have a ton of favorites, but among the top are Hyperion and The Fall of Hyperion by Dan Simmons. It's two books, but the first book ends in the middle of the story.

The Martian by Andy Weir is a really great hard sci-fi novel about a guy who is left behind on a mission to Mars. He has to survive by cobbling together parts from what his co-astronauts left behind.

And too many more to list. I read mostly sci-fi, fantasy, and nonfiction (in that order).

Right?? I read the rest of the series, but in my opinion they got worse as they went. I struggled hard to finish MaddAdam, but that still doesn't mean I didn't love Oryx and Crake. The story was fantastic though!

Epic stories, huge characters. Can definately get lost for a few days reading his works.

I'll also add my support to the Mistborn trilogy. I was a little disappointed in the ending, but as a whole it was pretty good. It's got some good twists in the world-building aspects of the books, too. Things you think you know get turned around in logical ways.
