We are the Wiccan. Centuries ago, magic was pure and brought peace and prosperity to those who used it. The very idea of using it for evil didn't occur to the Wiccan, which primarily kept everyone out of too much trouble. They lived with the humans in peace, and the world was in balance. The Wiccan world was ruled by the Imperium, a group of powerful witches who made up the law of their existence. The Imperium consisted of 5 households; the Valence family, the Candolor family, the Meridian family, the Benette family and finally, the Carmichael family.The Carmichael family has always been on top - they were the pureblood Wiccans who had always ruled. It was only one family who resented the Carmichael's unbridled powers... the Valence household envied their undeniable authority and searched for any opportunity to unleash their downfall.
In the late 17th century, the Valence family's hard work paid off. The Praetor(view spoiler)[If you are confused, please visit the Wiccan Information page (hide spoiler)] was brutally murdered, along with his wife and two daughters. The Carmichaels were dead... and the Valences' rejoiced. A woman who went by the name of Abigail Williams was charged with the using magic to kill the i>Praetor, and was hung. By killing someone with her magic, Abigail had birthed the use of black magic and unfortunately, others were catching on. What the humans know as the Salem Witch Trials were the Wiccan's attempt of erasing black magic from their world, but failed.
Over 300 years later, the Wiccan community is divided by white and black magic, as is the Imperium. The Valence family rules as Praetor and Regent, a trail of darkness left in their footsteps. The Wiccan world has become unstable with their rule - people have become wary, and fights have broken out between white and black magic users. The balance of power has been disrupted, and unless it is fixed, the Wiccan will unleash war on each other and fight until there is nothing left but ashes.
