Clarisse sighed as she sat down. That investigator guy was quite odd. She opened her book and wrote about the girl she described to him. When she felt the air chill, she looked up. "You might as well show yourself, I can feel you ya know." She called, thinking it was the girl again.
Caleb mainfested himself and he now looked human. "Well you have powerful senses." He said coming out of the darkness. He walked over to the girl. Caleb was tall and strong but his eyes sparkled like the moonlight stars.
"OH! I'm sorry, I thought you were someone else." Claire blushed lightly. "May I ask your name?" She said, staring at him without realizing it. He was quite fetching, after all.
"Caleb." He said with a smile. "Might I ask yours?" He looked into her eyes and quickly glanced her over. She was definitely attractive. Caleb took a few more steps toward her and sat down.
Claire looked down quickly, due to the fact that she was very shy. "Clarrise. But you can call me Claire. Or CiCi." She felt very small and awkward, noting that she was alone with a handsome guy. She half hoped someone, even a spirit, would appear.
"Clarrise. I like that name. My grandmother was named that." He said with a fading smile. He thought about his past. He missed them. They probably missed him too. He tried to shake the thought. "Have you been here before? I don't think I have seen you around here."
Claire blinked, glancing up at him. "I've been here, just not here. I mean I've been at the hotel, I live here so yeah but I've never been to this part before." She rambled, a little embarrassed as she closed her book.
Caleb nodded. "I live here too. I wonder why I haven't seen you around the hotel." He said with a shrug. "I guess I have to admit, this is a big place."
"Yeah..." Claire tucked her book in her bag. "I'm quite famished, actually." She said, half to herself. She then remembered Caleb was there.
"Want some tea?" He asked with smirk. "I heard they have the best kind around here." Then he realized, he had a hard time staying manifested after trying to grab something. He didn't want her to run. She seemed different than the rest.
"I'll call a maid. Would you like anything?" Claire asked kindly as she dialed
Claire ordered some cake and a milkshake. It came within minutes, and she grinned. "Thanks!" She called as the maid walked inside.
"That looks good." He said eyeballing the milkshake. "What flavor is it?" He said biting his lip. Caleb wanted to have one of those so bad but he couldn't.
"Chocolate," she said, stabbing the cake. "Would you like one?"
"Alrighty then!" She ate her cake happily. She loved sweets. She could understand why a buff guy like him wouldn't like sweets. It was still a little disappointing.
He was relived that she didn't question him. Then, by the corner of his eye, he saw someone pass by and look out the window. He saw the lady scream and start to run. Fortunately it had sound proof windows. If that woman was screaming, then he was starting to fade but how could Clair still him still fully manifested?
Claire didn't notice as she ate happily. "So is this your favorite spot?" She asked curiously.
"Oh yeah? I've never been there before." Claire said with curiosity.
"Really? It is prety beautiful there. All the books you could ever imagine are probably in the library." He said with a warm smile starting form on his face.
"Wow. Sounds amazing." She smiled warmly at him, then took a drink of her milkshake. One would never guess the girl was in pain, what with her broken ribs. She hid it pretty well.
"It is." He said watching her drink her milkshake. Then he noticed something about the way she leaned. It seemed like something about her was out of place. "Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Why do you ask?" She said quite cheerfully.
He looked at her for moment. "Your leaning a little bit." He raised an eyebrow noticing that her body seemed to go out of place.
"Nah, I'm alright." She answered again. She sipped her milkshake happily.
He nodded, still a tiny bit suspicious. But he changed the topic. "What's your favorite place in the hotel?"
"Well it was the gardens until yesterday." She chuckled. "Had a bad run in with a spirit."
"Yeah..." She laughed a little. "Guy wanted my investigator friend out... He attacked us."
Caleb narrowed his eyes at the floor. He mumbled something under his breath. He hated that spirit. He looked back up, with his expression free from anything suspious. "That's awful."
"Yeah, I ended up with a concussion and a couple broken ribs..... but oh well!" She said, way too cheery.
"Yeah, I passed out on the brick path..." Claire made a face. "I woke up with Curt calling my name, and it was dark. It was crazy."
Caleb couldn't say much. He tried to keep a striaght face but it was hard. He wanted to hurt that spirit so bad at that second. He should even have the respect to call it a spirit, it was full blown out demon.
"Ah well." She shrugged, finishing her drink.
Claire shrugged, "Optimism!" She said happily.
Caleb couldn't help but laugh at her response. "Well you seem to be the most obtimistic person I have met."
Claire gave a satisfied smile. "Thats good!" She said with a laugh.
((Daiyaaaaaaaneraaaaaaaaaa Kellllllllseeeeeey))
Claire furrowed her brow. "Yes." She answ
*answered after thinking for a moment. "When that bloody investigator kissed me."
"Kind of." Claire made a face. "I mean, I was about to fall asleep and I had a concussion. He said he did it to keep me awake." She said, that day still a little fuzzy in her memory.
