Is Esmé Squalor the hero?!

Anna I have a theory that VFD is evil and Esmé Squalor is a heroic rebel trying to put a stop to its actions. As a child, she was kidnapped by VFD and spied on them. Bertrand is her first cousin. She started the Baudelaire fire, attempting to kill Beatrice, the true villain of the books but she survived
