So...I'm about half way through the book and I'm enjoying it, but I don't think I would use this as a read aloud book in the classroom. It can be a bit...intense. I don't know if that's the right word, but I'll go with that.
There may not be enough students in a classroom who's interest level or stamina would match this book.
HOWEVER...if you are reading to your own child and you both enjoy fantasy and adventure, this may be a perfect fit. This would also make a wonderful independent read for kids...4th grade and up thru high school.
I'll let you know how the rest of it goes.

I'm on page 234 and I've decided that that is enough for me. I have enjoyed the book and I would still recommend it as a read aloud for 4th grade and up. I'm just not a big one for fantasy.

If you're not familiar with it, it's about how a reader gets sucked into a book/another world where it's up to him to save it. Copyright: 1979
Yesterday, I was baking for Thanksgiving and my hands were busy, so I figured I would listen to the audiobook. Unfortunately, the narrator didn't cut it with me...but I'm definitely interested in the story.
I'll give you an update later.
