Just finished my re-read. It had been awhile so I was still shocked when (view spoiler) I also really liked that (view spoiler) I don’t think that’s been included in any movie adaptation I’ve ever seen.
Question for all: What is your favorite movie adaptation of A Christmas Carol?
Mine is definitely The Muppet Christmas Carol!

I'm a Jim Carrey fan, so probably that one.😊

Oh my goodness, I’ve never seen that one! Sadly, Disney+ won’t have it available until November of next year 😒
I’ll have to check my library...

I read "A Christmas Carol" for the first time this season, finished it a few days ago, and am so glad I did. I enjoyed it so much, I'm thinking about making it an annual holiday read. I hope it put everyone else in the Christmas mood; it is truly a classic for a reason! :-)
With 1/3 of the votes, our winner for December is Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, which several of you holiday-minded Snails suggested.
It's a fairly short book (or a novella), at around 100-150 pages in most printed versions. Let us know what you think of it if you're reading or re-reading it with the Book Snails!
A Christmas Carol is a novella by English author Charles Dickens. It was first published by Chapman & Hall on 19 December 1843. It tells the story of a bitter old miser named Ebenezer Scrooge and his transformation resulting from a supernatural visit by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Yet to Come.... The novella met with instant success and critical acclaim. The book was written and published in early Victorian era Britain, a period when there was strong nostalgia for old Christmas traditions together with the introduction of new customs, such as Christmas trees and greeting cards. Dickens' sources for the tale appear to be many and varied, but are, principally, the humiliating experiences of his childhood, his sympathy for the poor, and various Christmas stories and fairy tales.
