I suspected Lindley didn't innocently father a monster, but I did not suspect him of killing his son. It seemed that they had a lot in common, after all.
It took me a long time to suspect him of killing his son but I started thinking he knew more than he was letting on pretty early on. He was too smart to not be aware of Ashworth’s behavior, enough to threaten to cut him off if he didn’t marry. It didn’t make sense so I started looking at him. When he wouldn’t let Sebastian back in the house, I knew he killed him or knew who did.
I first thought he had planted evidence to protect someone that he knew had killed his son, or evidence to mislead investigators.
I didn't suspect him until Stephanie told Sebastian about Ashworth threatening the twins. I thought he might have overheard that and ended being the one to put a stop to it. I wasn't aware of his cruelty. It explains some things about Ashworth.
I never suspected him of the murder but I always knew he knew exactly the type of man his son was. It was mentioned in the last book that he paid to cover up the rapes and other terrible deeds Ashworth did while at school. That type of cover up was not unusual though so I never took it as a motive for murder.
I never suspected him. Lindley was the perfect twist for me. I knew he was aware of his son's misdeeds. I also remembered that he wasn't a good man, but I didn't think he would kill his son. I'm with Sebastian in that it is a good thing that the twins aren't Ashworth's biological children.
