Ms_Sara_Darling (MsSaraDarling) The wind whipped the trees in a frenzy as the cold air chilled everyone in sight. It was another normal shivering Alaskan day. Not wanting to take any chances Luka pulled his father's old fisherman's hat down to cover his face and lifted the hood to his sleeveless parka. The last thing he need was to spotted by one of the local mutts. He'd already had to deal with a crazy wendigo earlier that day when he was out hunting. That was all the madness he needed for one day. Now all he wanted was to sit down and enjoy a meal before he had to go work on his truck.

His choice in table was simple. The one closest to the forest just in case he needed to make a quick escape. It's not that he's chicken or afraid of the rabid locals, he just wasn't in the mood to deal with their self-righteous attitudes and blood thirsty 'laws'. As much as he wanted to believe that everyone has some hint of good in them, he's always had trouble convincing himself that other packs have a shred of kindness in their souls.

"What can I get for you?" A blonde waitress smiled down at him. With one small breeze he knew that she was human and the tension in his shoulders relaxed. "I'll have the daily special," He winked and tipped his hat. Flirtation was inevitable no matter where he went. If you have two copies of the X chromosome then you can bet your uncle's axe that he's going to hit on you. "One BBQ brisket sandwich," she scribbled on her little yellow pad and then looked up, "anything to drink?" Luka noticed the heat in her cheeks and knew she was putty in his hands. But he didn't feel like tackling any gazelle's today. "Just a pepsi," He said while attempting to rein in his charm.

Julia "Huh..." Raven said. She closed her eyes and waited until they got to Pop and Son's. Once they were there, she let out a little sigh of relief. She decided that motorcycles were not her thing. Raven was curious to meet Kane, because from what Ryne told her, he seemed... Interesting.

((sorry it's short... I wasn't sure what to say. lol))

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Ryne turned the engine off and looked at her. "I'm guessing my '40 Harley isn't for you." He loved then rev of the engine and how girls flocked him a bars. It was his weakness, women who could easily seduce him because he was still hormonal like a teenager and had good stamina. Yet he knew where to draw the line before things got out of hand and control because of girls with boyfriends.

message 4: by Julia (new)

Julia "Um, yeah." Raven said, deciding lying was not a good option. She hopped off, feeling her ears turn red. "Let's go inside, yeah?" Raven said, going inside without waiting for him. She sat at a table that could be for four, by the window of course. Raven loved looking outside. It helped when she didn't have anything to say.

message 5: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Ryne was getting ready to walk when Kane call. Just his luck, his twin was catching to his thoughts. "Hey brother," he answered to phone still out side. It was about Bailey of course, she had gotten home which was good but she's now whining over her punishment. It was ironic how the boys gave her punishments when she didn't behave or do something she shouldn't, like leave the house without telling them. "Alright, in at the diner so when you come I'll take Bailey off your hands and you can meet her new friend Raven." He hung up after ten minutes of being on the phone as he headed inside now.

message 6: by Julia (new)

Julia Raven watched Ryne curiously. She figured he must have been talking to Kane about finding Bailey. When he came inside, Raven said, "You know, you shouldn't be so harsh on Bailey. She can take care of herself just fine. She deserves some freedom." Raven shrugged, and watched as a waitress came over to them and put down two menus and leaving them alone-for the moment.

message 7: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments "Yes I know this but she needs to at the least tell us because we took a vow that we wouldn't let her get kill." Ryne looked at the menu decided to order for his brother since Bailey was going to be lock in her room until he get home. A sleek black ford pulled in as Ryne gave his order to the waitress. Kane did look like Ryne but he had shaper yet soft features unlike Ryne who was stone hard and cold. Both wore dark denim jeans, grey shirts, and black leather jackets which was their pet usual.

message 8: by Julia (last edited Jan 17, 2015 09:19AM) (new)

Julia Raven looked out the window and saw what must have been Kane. Her eyebrow flicked out of curiosity. "You staged a meeting." Raven said, laughing softly. Her eyes followed Kane for a moment, but she snapped out of staring at him when the waitress came back. She asked, "Can I start you off with drinks?" Raven looked at the girl, deciding that she was a mortal. "Water is fine. And I'll just have fish and chips." Raven said with a shrug.

message 9: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Ryne laughed and shook his head. "Naw, I was gonna stay and eat but Kane call about Bailey and I'm usually the one making sure she does her punishment and I thought it was rude to just leave you here alone so Kane is gonna stay her as I leave," her smirked as his brother walked through the door. They was both the same height and build yet Kane showed her sign of intellect then Ryne's brutality. Twins could be alike yet total opposite which is what the Taylor boys were. Ryne got up and nodded at his brother. "Kane, Raven. Raven, Kane," he gave a quick introduction. "I also ordered some food since I didn't think you get here that fast but you probably speeded so enjoy," with his words Ryne left and Kane took his seat.

message 10: by Julia (new)

Julia Raven didn't know what to do or say. She was curious about Kane, but didn't want to start talking a bunch because she thought that would be weird. "Hi..." Raven said, glaring at Ryne and then giving Kane a fleeting glance. She bit her lip and shifted in her chair. Raven sniffed, scenting a strong amount of werewolves, but that was Ryne and Kane. The waitress was mortal, so she didn't mind much.

message 11: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane rolled his eyes at Ryne and looked at Raven with a small smile. "Hey," another difference between the brothers was Kane's voice was deeper and huskier the Ryne's yet his showed a more New York accent then Kane's. "Just tell me the truth that you really hate Ryne," surprising question for his do called twin brother. He loved Ryne but at the same time hated him because he was alway brutal when he needed to think of things out.

message 12: by Julia (new)

Julia "Um, what? Hate him? I'm not exactly that much of an extreme person... I try not to hate. And for the few that I reserve that title to, he's not one of them." Raven spluttered, blushing scarlet. Looking down at her hands, she remembered that she was bleeding, and not about to stop. Raven silently cursed, but was glad to remember that in her medical kit-the one she always kept with her-had sutures in it. With a sigh of relief, she decided she would stitch herself up later, because they were about to eat.

message 13: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane laughed at her as he finally smell the metallic scent of blood. "Go to the restroom and get the wound dealt with," his voice was sincere and kind as he acknowledged the wound. He wasn't like his brother unless is some of the same looks but in personality he was slightly more generous and wise then Ryne. "It's better for people her to not see you bleeding but it also make you smell slightly more vulnerable."

message 14: by Julia (new)

Julia Raven sighed, and said, "You're right." She went to the bathroom. She washed her hand, wincing as it stung. Raven went into a stall and pulled out her medical kit. She carefully stitched up her hand, biting her lips to help her not cry. Once done, she wrapped it up in an actual bandage, and came back out. Raven sat back down across from Kane, seeing that the waitress was bringing over their food.

message 15: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane nodded at her return. "Would you care to tell me how that happened because I have a feeling it was cause by Ryne." He nodded and smiled slightly at the waitress as she brought the food over to him. He knew usually people got hurt because it stupid barbaric brutal twin brother of his. It was easier to get the story from the victim then trying to talk to Ryne because he like to add a big twist to it saying that he was attacked.

message 16: by Julia (new)

Julia "Um..." Raven said, blushing because of how it actually happened. "I was clumsy and I dropped my dagger..." It was the truth, just not all of it. "It wasn't Ryne's fault." Only what he said. she thought sourly to herself. Raven was being careful and not actually giving Kane eye contact, afraid about what would happen. Because people can obviously read minds. Raven looked down at her food, wondering why she ordered it in the first place. I'm not hungry! she thought as her stomach growled.

message 17: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane shook his head. "And why did you drop the dagger?" He started to eat some of the fries his brother order. He knew there was something she wasn't telling him and it was more like that Ryne was the cause because he never help people. "You can tell me I'm not one to really overreact to anything." He was trying to convince her that it was alright to say and that he would accuse anything right off the back.

message 18: by Julia (new)

Julia "He said something that startled me, that's all." Raven said honestly. She looked at her food and gave in, deciding to eat. "It wasn't actually his fault." she added. Raven looked at him shyly, suddenly nervous. She continued to eat, not really wanting to talk, in case of what she might say-accidentally or not.

message 19: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane sighed and started eating all of his food. "What exactly did Ryne say so i can kill him later," he muttered when he didn't have food in his mouth. He was hungry and was technically eating for two if you included his wolf. "If you can tell my brother has not intelligence after an eighth grade level so I usual have to beat him up because he don't think," Kane was oddly open about Ryne.

message 20: by Julia (new)

Julia "It's nothing... Really." Raven said, blushing. When she finished eating, she sighed. Raven felt regretful and weak. She wasn't exactly a person who liked to eat. Raven sipped her water, daring a glance at Kane. He was really attractive, she did have to admit. But she was also Bailey's brother...

message 21: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane eyed her suspiciously, he knew it must of been about him because she would say anything. "So how'd you meet Bailey?" He sipped some of the pop that was ordered for him. Sometime Ryne was good like getting want he liked to eat as others he was almost infuriating. He was good with conversation unless it was about something he could talk about like fighting, schooling, that or his job.

message 22: by Julia (new)

Julia "We were at the cafe at the same time. I had never met another one of us before... And I was curious." Raven said simply. It was kind of lame, that she never met a werewolf before... But then again, Raven was careful. Keeping away from others. Maybe because she was afraid how they would treat her, not that she would admit the true reason.

message 23: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane nodded at her. "Something's tells me your and only child. As kids mine and Rynes mom died and our dad murdered." He ran an hand through his hair and know some of the blonde streaks could be seen for the light coming in by the window, it made Kane's hair become a light brown instead of dark like Rynes and he had his hair cut evenly unlike his twin.

message 24: by Julia (new)

Julia Raven looked at Kane's hair, slightly mesmerized. Realizing that she was staring, she blinked and glanced down. "Close, but no. I was an orphan. And put in an all girls' orphanage. I never knew my parents, and I was never adopted." Raven said, tucking some of her auburn hair behind her ear. It was bright in the sunlight, looking lighter than usual.

message 25: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane nodded at her. "Life just hates some of us but good things happen too." It was odd that one didn't care about life and the other did making his words sound like poetry. He actually finished school and done online college courses. He loved to learn which was somewhat different since he fought as a teenager and also became a gang leader at one point in his life. "How old are you?"

message 26: by Julia (new)

Julia "I'm only thirty... I was turned when I was eighteen." Raven said, remember that Bailey had told him that they were in their eighties. "So I wasn't born this way. I was tricked into becoming this... I think he was a terrorist, now that I think about it... He bit me before I was getting on a plane to America..." She laughed softly, then added, "The bright side to that was it was right after I was... Hit in my side and had my ribs broken, so one of the first things that happened was they healed."

message 27: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane nodded at her. "Both of my parents were this way and my mother died five birth, I think at least," he shrugged and sipped his soda. "I'm eighty-two but I've been in hiding for a god four decades because of the age thing and mortals." He took his jacket off revealing perfectly unmarked arms that were well toned in muscle, he never seen the use for tattoos unlike Ryne who was covered in them.

message 28: by Julia (new)

Julia Raven looked at his toned arms, shyly glancing away and outside instead. "I haven't had too much trouble with that. Not yet, at least." she said with a laugh. Raven was curious as to what he thought of her, but wasn't going to ask. She bit her lip, feeling a... Different emotion. Raven blushed, not knowing why.

message 29: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane nodded at her and looked at his plate of eaten food. He was used to seeing the empty plate but he was still hungry. The waitress cam back to collect the dishes and Kane ordered a dessert of an ice cream Sunday even though it was cold and snowyish out. He was one of them people who liked ice cream in the winter and hot chocolate in the summer. The only hot beverage he liked in winter was coffee or hot tea.

message 30: by Julia (new)

Julia Raven looked at Kane, curious. She grinned when he got an ice cream. It was cold, but ice cream was good nevertheless. "So..." Raven said, not actually knowing what to say. "Why did you decide to come meet me? Because Ryne thought it was a good idea?" She bit her lip, wondering what he would say.

message 31: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane looked at her and smiled. "Bailey isn't good at making friends. She took time trusting me and Ryne in the beginning, so I thought it would be good to see what made her trust you easily." The waitress walked over with the Sunday and sat it in the table. When she left she gave Kane an flirtatious smile which me him roll his eyes. He picked up his spoon and began eating it. "Want some?"

message 32: by Julia (new)

Julia "No, it's okay." Raven said, trying to quiet the insults running circles in her mind. Her eyebrow twitched and she added, "I never would have guessed that Bailey isn't good at making friends.. She's really nice." Raven smiled at the thought, then looked at Kane. "You really should give her more freedom." she told him.

message 33: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane sighed and sat the spoon down. "I do and you see I texted her. Ryne's overprotective yes but she left without telling us and we freaked. We lost our father to a pack attack and we don't want to lose her. I never left home." He rubbed his hand down his face as if deep in though. "She ran off at a young age, it's hard to make friend when you live on the streets and always having to watch your back. Me and Ryne did it and its not a good life."

message 34: by Julia (new)

Julia "So did I..." Raven said, sighing. She shivered slightly, not really sure why. "So.. How long have you guys been here in Alaska?" she inquired, trying keep the conversation going without being weird about anything.

message 35: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane shrugged at her. "A couple weeks maybe a month or so ago." He wasn't good at keeping track of time but it never mattered to him. "So how long have you been alone?" He did see Raven as an attractive women but it was Bailey's friend and that would be kind of weird since they were like real siblings except she was blonde as both guys were brunettes with fairly good skin tones.

message 36: by Julia (new)

Julia Raven twisted a piece of her auburn hair, saying, "I got her a week ago. So I haven't been here very long at all." She bit her lip and sighed. "I should probably go soon..." Raven said, thinking out loud. She wanted to find somewhere to stay before it got dark.

message 37: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane nodded at her. "Do you want a ride?" He motioned for the waitress to give him the check so he could pay. It wasn't hard since he had two jobs that was easier to go around the others schedule. Once he paid he sat a tip on the table. He had manners and it was taught that he should be a gentlemen to a women to show he respected her but that was when he was a kid in the forties just like Ryne was taught but he seem to have forgotten all of his manners.

message 38: by Julia (new)

Julia "Um..." Raven blushed not wanting to say what was the truth. "No I'll be fine..." She bit her lip. "You didn't have to pay for me." Raven added. She stood up herself, feeling blood rush to her cheeks.

((sorry that's so short))

message 39: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane grabbed his jack and shook his head. "I was taught back before world ear one to be a gentleman and treat a woman with respect unlike Ryne who throw all manners out the wind if you couldn't tell. It also wasn't a big deal I have money to afford things and you need to save yours so you can make payments around here." He pushed in his chair and slipped his jacket on and smiled at her kindly. Kane could be said to be a big soft teddy bear at times.

message 40: by Julia (new)

Julia Raven couldn't help but smile back; his smile was contagious. "Thanks," she said. Deciding to be truthful with Kane, she said, "I don't actually have a place to stay, that's why... I uh... Never mind. Forget that I just said that." Raven blushed scarlet.

message 41: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane laughed at her shaking his head. "There's an old inn in town. You could probably stay there if you need a place." He really didn't know if she had the money so he'd probably help her out if she needed it. "How much cash do you have on ya?" He leaned against the chair looking at her, he found the blush make her seem more attractive but he was a sucker for a lot of things unlike Ryne.

message 42: by Julia (new)

Julia "And why would I tell you that?" Raven said with a laugh. "I have about five hundred, so I should be fine until I find a place." she told him honestly. For some reason, Raven found it rather easy to talk to Kane. About anything, really. Which could potentially be a bad thing, with the secrets that she kept.

message 43: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments "You can get an apartment at the inn. I give you some extra cash for food." Kane was ultimately a genuinely a good guy. He knew to help those in need it. He really wasn't worried about money because both boys were personal trainers and he was a lumberjack and people need wood to heat their homes so he made decent money. "Bailey can help you do some things around the place if you got and apartment."

message 44: by Julia (new)

Julia "You really don't need to Kane, I'm sure I will be fine. I'll find a job and start working. Seriously." Raven said, stubbornly crossing her arms. "I can take care of myself. I have been, for the past thirty years." she added, proving her point.

message 45: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane shook his head. "Fine then be that way. I guess you can find your way there too?" he questioned with his arms crossed. He had the serious look that could melt a girls insides out, metaphorically. He was a sucker for metaphors because he had a thing that could make them so much funnier. Yes, he could be call a geek or nerd but people find him too attractive to call him that and end up saying he's a jock and smart person.

message 46: by Julia (new)

Julia Raven looked at him and growled angrily. Why did he have to be so attractive? "No, I can't, okay? Is that what you wanted me to admit? That I need help?" she said, her temper rising. Raven kicked the ground, trying not to let her anger get the better of her. Sometimes people would call her hot headed, but she could also easily be considered a hot mess.

message 47: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane nodded at her feeling completely fine. He wanted to be show respect, If he would to be in a pack he'd probably have a higher rank but he liked being alone with his brother and Bailey. "Yes now do you want a ride or something?" he asked politely like that didn't happen. He was sometimes hot and cold because of his brother and growing up with him for their long unending life of eighty-two years.

message 48: by Julia (new)

Julia Raven sighed, then nodded. "If you don't mind, a ride would be great." She shivered again, though not cold. "Why are you being so nice to me? I just got really angry with you and you didn't even care. Why?" Raven inquired in a whisper. Her green eyes looked intently at his own, wanting to know what was going on in his head.

message 49: by dreaмcнιld (new)

dreaмcнιld | 371 comments Kane looked at her. "I want respect but it just because my father was of a higher rank if in a pack. I can easily forgive depend on who the person is." He started for the door to get to his truck. He wasn't a mean cruel person like Ryne. "My brother and I found that a great leadership needed both of us so we can work as on instead of two and be better. That's why he isn't a people person because he isn't the smartest unless in battle strategy."

message 50: by Julia (new)

Julia "Well then, what am I to you? Like, what do you consider me?" Raven said, following him to his truck. She grinned when he said how Ryne wasn't the smartest except when it came to fighting. It seemed fitting. "Am I a friend? A friend of your sister?" Raven inquired curiously.
