I'm kind of surprised no one commented in this section. A lot happens here. Then again there is a tendency to just rush through books and not comment in every section in this group, so I guess I shouldn't be THAT surprised.

I'm not done with this section yet, but already a few big things of note:

Gavin appears to be having trouble with Green now. And of course to keep you guessing Dazen has escaped (at least partially) the Green part of his prison.

But of course the Blinding Knife is now glowing a dull Green in addition to the bright Blue.

Now we know the guy Kip stabbed with it was a Green drafter. I'm sure that's not a coincidence. We know it blinding him to his green as well. The question is then, if the dagger is responsible for Gavin's loss as well, how did it do it? The blue might make sense simply because he was stabbed with it. But he wasn't anywhere near by let alone the one stabbed for the Green bit.

Is it tied to the Prism regardless and it's the act of the dagger stealing a particular light from ANYONE that causes it to take that light from the Prism? Was the assassin a weak Green drafter and so taking his light only partially took it from Gavin?

Iron fist says it used to belong to the White. So maybe it was a safety measure kept in place against a Prism who became too powerful?

The timing on the prison thing though twice in a row is an awfully big coincidence however.

My guess is that it's all connected somehow, but as Gavin says, which is the cause and which is the effect?

We also learn a bit about the cloaks. Apparently they work based on some technique called "Light bending" which was previously thought to exclusive to the Prism. Iron Fist doesn't know how it works, but as I guessed earlier, it wouldn't shock me if Teia can do it.

And finally the cards. There are a lot of interesting cards in that deck. I'm still pissed at Janus being dead, but the cards will likely serve to be the source of intrigue in her place.

Sky | 1291 comments Totally agree Alex about reality vs perception, and the importance of will. Unfortunately don't have much more to add, but I'll keep a look out for more clues in book 3 ;)

Linette | 135 comments The end of world order is nigh, and Gavin/Prism kills a girl in a rage...then goes to get his crazy-ass brother to be the new Prism (old Prism reinstated?).
Not sure I like the direction this is taking. Does he really think, Prism or no, his brother will make a good replacement in his current mental state?

I really like the cards - as soon as Kip started reading the names I was trying to connect them to the characters in the book.

Prism was pretty tricky getting the voting to go his way. So can a murderer Prism still have his own Satrapy? At least his friend has the Satrapy. Things are going to get confusing fast.

This exactly. This "plot twist" pisses me off. I almost quit reading completely, and definitely cut short my reading for the day yesterday over this crap.

And I had really been enjoying this book too.

But I'm so tired of the juvenile wish fulfillment shit Mr. Weeks seems to keep including.

Ah yeah, I enjoyed that scene too. Though it looks like he's going to pay for it later, it was fun to read.

Um. Did you mean to post this in this section? Major spoilers for later in the book..

And the plot twist in question was Gavin killing the girl who practically raped him...

Sky | 1291 comments You pulled a Sky! That's the problem with the numerous small chapters
