Patrina Bruce | 7 comments She thinks she's like a grenade, meaning that when she explodes she's going to cause pain to other people,This is her metaphor for her death. She knows then when the grenade explodes/she dies, everyone around her is going to feel sadness.

Summerxd | 9 comments Well Hazel thinks of herself as a "grenade". Why? well I think she is afraid one day she will explode and hurt all her loved ones. After Augustus cancer gets worse she thinks of him as a grenade. Augustus says in a letter after he passes away that "People don't get to choose who they hurt, but they can choose who hurts them" and yes I think its true! The grenade means the pain and sadness they cause to others. And it shows that being hurt is for the right cause and you just got to make the best out of it. Like to me I think we are all grenades.
