It's time to reflect on an entire decade of reading! Feel free to share the books you've read and loved since 2010!

P.S. It's totally okay to go back and reflect on those older reading challenges! We won't judge!

(Please only include books published from January 1, 2010 - December 31, 2019 on this list.)

Sophie | 139 comments At first I thought this would be near impossible, there have been so many YA books published in the last decade I have read and loved, how to narrow it down!? But it was actually lots of fun to look back over what's new since 2010. I've been thinking it over and come up with my 10 favourites from the last 10 years...

But before that, highly commended! The last two books in the Vampire Academy series came out in 2010 and that was such a fun ride, I also enjoyed the first 3 books of the companion series Bloodlines. I adored the Glow trilogy by Amy Kathleen Ryan & Divergent by Veronica Roth when I was younger but I'm not sure the magic would still be there if I read them again, though maybe one day I'll see. Lies My Girlfriend Told Me by Julie Anne Peters was imperfect but emotionally powerful. We Set the Dark on Fire by Tehlor Kay Mejia, Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore and Tales of Inthya series by Effie Calvin all deserve so much love and were painful not to include (recency bias and all that). But my final list in no specific order is...

Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, #3) by Suzanne Collins Boys Don't Cry by Malorie Blackman Blanca & Roja by Anna-Marie McLemore Beauty Queens by Libba Bray The Diviners (The Diviners, #1) by Libba Bray Lair of Dreams (The Diviners, #2) by Libba Bray Before the Devil Breaks You (The Diviners, #3) by Libba Bray Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys Labyrinth Lost (Brooklyn Brujas, #1) by Zoraida Córdova Skyward (Skyward, #1) by Brandon Sanderson

This is tough! With all the books I tend to read, it's hard to narrow it down to a few favorites, or at least ones that have made an impression on me.

I'd thought I'd keep it simple for myself and pick out my top 10 books for the decade. 10 for 10. Get it?

So here they are in no particular order:
Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson Underwater by Marisa Reichardt Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, #1) by Benjamin Alire Sáenz The Winter Horses by Philip Kerr The 57 Bus A True Story of Two Teenagers and the Crime That Changed Their Lives by Dashka Slater Perfected (Perfected, #1) by Kate Jarvik Birch The Academy by Emmaline Andrews Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) by Sarah J. Maas

I only counted the first book in a series, even though I deem the whole series to be worthwhile.

Sophie | 139 comments Only counting the first book in a series was a smart move! I think I'll read Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe sometime. At one point that book was just so hyped I didn't even consider it, if that makes sense. Something to do with expectations.
