Exciting news! Starting today we are announcing the grand opening of the two online stores full of Josh Lanyon goodies.

Our Zazzle store Fanyonland has constantly growing amount of Fanyon tresures:

http://www.zazzle.com/fanyonland

ETA August 2016: We've put our Etsy store on hold for now. It might be opened again later on, but we're currently concentrating on our Zazzle store.

(The Etsy store is called Fanyons:

https://www.etsy.com/shop/Fanyons)

In the Etsy store you’ll find some one of a kind items, handmade for you specially by us. Zazzle allows us to use the hi-res cover art work which Josh has licensing for.

Important Note: when searching the Zazzle store, change the content filter at the far bottom left to "off". There are words like "sexy", "naked", and.... something else with four letters lurking around.

Have fun browsing through them and let us know what you think! And further more — what kind of items would you like to see in these two stores? What quotes would you like to have on the Fanyon goodies? And which bookcovers (the ones that Josh owns)?

We’re very enthusiastic about this, it’s been a blast to start both of the stores, but what we’d love to do is to continue developing the stores with your help. So, if you have any specific Fanyon things you fancy, let us know and we’ll do our best to make it happen! (Oh, and ”we” are Marilyn and Dianne from Josh’s Facebook Fan Page, Josh and me.)

Remember to change the content filter from "safe" to "off" on Zazzle. There are currently almost 70 items in that store, but only less than ten show, if the content filter is on safe.

Wow — that sounds... filthy and suspicious! LOL.

LOL! Yeah, that notebook was one of the items that doesn't show when the content filter is on "safe". Also all the peaCOCK feather items don't show if the content filter isn't turned off.

:-D :-D :-D

Yeah, it's 20% off all products. I'm going to do some shopping too! :-) I think I'll invest on the Mummy Dearest throw blanket... :-D

The Zazzle U.S. site is a little confusing. I canceled my original order, then resubmitted after applying the 20% discount code: ZWEEKOFDEALS. I didn't understand that it applied storewide today. It looked like it just applied to custom postage... well, and some other things. OK, I kind of indulged just a wee bit. : )

Oh, and it's pretty funny what the site suggested based on key words in my order. ; )

Here's are some favorites from my many bookmarks. The "I like reading" one is pretty catchy. : )

These are all from this edition, with corresponding page numbers:
Lanyon, Josh (2007-12-11). The Hell You Say (Adrien English Mysteries), Loose Id LLC. Kindle Edition.

“You don’t think a gay Shakespearean actor amateur sleuth is enough of a hook?” (p. 10)

I don’t like crowds. I like reading. (p. 42)

“You look like someone. I know who. You look like the actor in that movie. Red River.”
“John Wayne?” (p. 27)

There’s nothing like rolling seas, buried treasure, and handsome pirates as an antidote to whatever ails ye. (p. 57)

I’d asked Jake once if, in his admittedly warped opinion, there was anything particularly gay in my appearance or demeanor.
He’d replied, “You’re…too graceful.”
Too graceful? What did that mean? “Physically, intellectually, or spiritually?”
“All of the above,” he’d said wryly. (p. 58)

These are great — thank you so much, Karen. Another friend sent these to me earlier today:

Snowden said carefully, "I've been unable to get in touch with the person I thought might know about our mutual friend's difficulty."
The guy sounded like he worked for the CIA. Or Charles Dickens.

and

A pause followed my greeting. Then, "We're watching you," whispered the voice on the other end.
"Yeah? Did you see what I did with my keys?"

Makes me want to re-read the whole series again!

I'm going to buy those blankets to see how they look. I did use HUGE (really huge) files to make both blankets, so they should look okay. I'll let you know when they'll arrive.

Oh cool! Give us pictures. I love the way they look and a typewriter blanket for my reading chair would be so perfect. It even sort of matches my reading chair colors.

message 33: by Alison (new)

Alison | 4756 comments I ordered one of the mugs and one of Johanna's lovely peacock cards yesterday. Yay! I can post a photo someday if anyone wants to see how it looks in action. Those blankets look great. I love that typewriter image!

Oh, but I did something silly, and I'll tell you guys so maybe you won't do it...I didn't know there was a Zazzle NZ site, so I ordered from the US one and had to pay extra shipping and I found out this morning that Zazzle is in lots of countries and the websites don't cross over. The lesson is: check first if a website has international sites. It's not as if I was paying all that much anyway because of the enormous discounts on at the moment (it was so cheap that I could not resist!), but it still rankled a little bit. Oh well. I am excited for my goodies nonetheless. :)

Oh! I used Zazzle UK yesterday, but I think most of the goodies will still be send from US. *scratches her head*

We are constantly adding new items on Zazzle. I think we've made at least ten new mugs since opening the store and quite a few other items, too.

About mugs — most of them have quotes on the back. So if there are more than one mug inside a category (for example Baby, it's Cold/ Comfort and Joy category) they probably have different quotes on them. So be sure to check the back of the mug, too!

Johanna (& anyone who ordered from Zazzle so far) — Check your email. My order was cancelled due to a copyright question on the All She Wrote mug. Three other items were "approved" but the whole order was cancelled. I reordered today, and I think that the discount was even better.

(Johanna, let me know if you want a copy of my email forwarded to you.)

Oh no! I'm so sorry!

We obviously have Josh's permission to use these files and quotations. I'll contact Zazzle immediately! Thank you for telling us, Karen.

ETA: And yes, I would very much like to see that email!

I've now contacted Zazzle about the problem. I hope they'll solve it ASAP. Josh, I gave them your email address if they want to confirm with you that we have your permission to use the cover files and quotes.

Weird thing though — I, too, bought All She Wrote mug from our Zazzle store and received email yesterday saying that my mug has been made and it's ready to be shipped. The exactly same mug that was cancelled when Karen ordered it. *scratches her head*

Well, I think it's great that Zazzle is strict about copyrights, but I hope it won't cause us any more problems in the future.

Overall this is true a learning experience for us setting up the store. So thank you so much for your patient, everyone!

Do you mean on the top of group's home page underneath the text "You can also find Josh..."?

Because yes, we could add the links there... or rather my computer wizard friend Calathea :-) most definitely knows how to do it... Or would there be some other more convenient place for the store links?
