Oh my, so many... Ninth House - does this count since it just came out??
Rebecca
The Lady from the Black Lagoon: Hollywood Monsters and the Lost Legacy of Milicent Patrick
Helter Skelter: The True Story of the Manson Murders
Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI
The Good Daughter
Trying to hit more non-fiction next year.
Oh lord...all of them! I have so many beautiful backlist books (both horror and not) on my shelves at home that I'm dying to get to. I think my most anticipated horror backlist tbr includes:The Shining & Dr. Sleep
My Best Friend's Exorcism
Burnt Offerings (was supposed to read this this October whoops)
The Reddening
(so much more)
And a 2020 "horror" (more gothic, really) book I'm looking forward to is Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia! Also looking forward to the new Stephen Graham Jones and Grady Hendrix. Gonna be a good year!
Twelve Nights at Rotters House for sure. I’d be happy to do Dead Zone and House of Leaves with you, Rachel! Anyone can join if they want!
I have about a hundred in my backlist, though honesty forces me to admit most are (European) comic books. A few books are those of colleagues at RA - and a book I urgently need to review... Ah. So much to read. So much to do.
Honestly, 99% of my books are backlist, I so rarely get to books while they're still new. That said, I've been meaning to read the following books for aaaaages so I'm going to try to make it happen in 2020:The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson
House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski
Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill
The Fisherman by John Langan
REBECCA! <3 Slow and unsettling and makes me want to wear tweed and I walk by the sea.Meli wrote: "Oh my, so many...

So many backlist books I need to get to! Rebecca and The Outsider are both getting show adaptations soon so I need to finally read those.
Most of what I read is backlist. But I really want to read Ametican Psycho this year. Currently reading A Simple Plan by Scott Smith. The Dead Zone and Hearts in Atlantis are my King goals this year.
I actually have all of mine organized for this year:https://app.milanote.com/1Id2bP1BWMZyc5
I won't get to all of them, but this is the pool I'm drawing from.
I want to carve out of a weekend or two for nice fat books -- House of Leaves (I'm about 100 pages in) and Wanderers by Chuck Wendig.I also want to read more female-authored horror, and more YA horror.
finally listened to Gone Girl and just can't even. I gave y'all a shout out in my goodreads review. it was super stressful and I gave it 4 stars for the great writing but did not really enjoy listening to it. I have so many feelings
