No wonder so many people think they're smarter than they actually are. They just have to buy the books! ;)

There's pretty stiff competition around here. Well done. :)

Throughout last year, I purchased many Kindle books because they were free or very inexpensive. I now find that many of them should not be considered books, but rather very lengthy magazine articles. The short items I will list with an alphabet letter, and the genuine books with a number.

Tell me about these prepping books you're reading, please? My husband and I have a rather basic BOB but we've been lackadaisical about it since we moved to the suburbs.
Hi Mrs. J! I think of prepping as most likely going without electricity for two weeks. So you and Mr. J might want to look at books about camping.Stocking up is a fundamental concept. That means food, water and batteries!
Whenever I see a prepping kindle book for free or 99 cents I get it. It can't hurt, even though they all pretty much say the same thing.
Usually each book has one new (to me) idea. The book I finished last night said that if you choose to buy a gun, you must routinely practice with it. And if you can't afford the ammo, you can't afford the gun.
I cannot recommend a specific book, but I suggest you search on Amazon for "prepping," "camping" and "homesteading." Those books will give you plenty of ideas!
By the way, I see that Ted Koppel now has a new book out called Lights Out which supports the idea of prepping. I guess better late than never!http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0553...

I think I'll look into grabbing a couple. We've been talking about updating our bag.
Most of the details/products, etc we actually get from a YouTuber who also reviews products. He has multiple BOB versions and they all look pretty fabulous. But expensive!!!

My favorite guy is NutNFancy. https://www.youtube.com/user/nutnfanc...
I haven't watched any videos lately (well, he made me feel guilty cause we know we haven't been on the ball with our prep) but a lot of the stuff he gives advice and reviews for look amazing.

You will note that the publishing industry doesn't care whether the "avid reader" reads any books, just so long as he buys them.
