This story is about a journalist who rediscovers his long lost love aboard a cross-country train trip at Christmas. The romance attempts to rekindle but is fraught with hurtful breakup memories. While the journalist records his train experience for a new article and his love interest writes scripts for a film played out on-board the train. you are exposed to memorable train employees that are full of character and smart train knowledge, an eloping couple's wedding, an active thief that hides among them and then, to top it off, an avalanche that traps the train in the Rocky Mountains and must be rescued. With a surprise ending, this story had it all. It holds your interest, if ever so gently, providing a lighthearted and amusing tale.
I realized when I was about half way through the book that I had seen the Hallmark TV-movie based on this book a couple years ago. While that ruined the ending for me, it was still fun to revisit this story in print.
