PBT NOTE When we played Book Exchange earlier in the year, you remember I was a whiner about not getting called-LoL karma kicked me good and I first pulled my own book (really!) and then pulled I book I loved, but had read(which Shelly donated to her library!!)-yes I know, I deserved this for all the whining. GR friend Amy then mailed me this book as a consolation prize ;) Thank you Amy, I really enjoyed it!
YA fantasy(which I had a lot of duds for this year) that I truly enjoyed reading.
The story is "loosely" based in a 1600's Venice like quality atmosphere. There is court and political intrigue, magic (quite the inventive system, I must say!) budding romances and lots of characters you can learn to love. Many of these characters are strong women, which is always a huge plus for me.
This is a trilogy and I will move onto the second book at some point.
For those of you who like YA Fantasy, I do believe this is worth a look.
