So. I had no idea what this book was when I started reading it. for personal reasons, I ordered a pile of books on femininity/ womanhood, and this was one of them. I was partway in before I realized that it was a treatise by a much more conservative Christian than I, but I trucked through the book anyway. I rate it one massive eye roll.

ANYWAY.
6. The Bible
The book of John

Read this with my kindergartener. It was sweet.

Took me forever to get through, but I do love Merton.

10. In Conclusion, Don't Worry About It - Lauren Graham

my church has a beautiful tradition of reading Mark in one fell swoop on Monday of Holy Week. We did it via Zoom tonight. <3
I'm also most of the way through Matthew on my own, so let's just log that now. This is the year I read all 4 canonicals.

Owen's teacher read this to them over zoom, and I listened in. I figure that is like an audio book, haha

First of all, it's EXACTLY like an audiobook! lol
Second, that's so sweet that teachers and organizations (libraries, science centers, etc.) are doing Zoom storytimes. I'm sure the school situation isn't easy for the teachers/students/siblings/parents, but as an outsider who just hears about bits and pieces of what's going on, I love the idea of Zoom storytimes. And just the idea of little ones still being in preschool/kindergarten/first grade via video schooling!

I've been running a toddler/ preschool story time on Mondays for a local motherhood center, also via zoom. That's been fun, too. I've been able to break out my favorite picture books.

They did science on Monday - a game of "sink or float?" where the kids had to predict... and then the last 10-15 minutes is listening to the book. They've moved on to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory now.

All of that sounds so wonderful!

Another Magic Tree House book read with Owen at bedtime!

Owen was reading over my shoulder and said, "wow, mommy, this book has a lot of bad words!" it cracked me up. yes, dear, Charles Bukowski loves his bad words

22. On the Holy Spirit - St. Basil the Great
October, and I'm not halfway through yet... yikes.

26. Mother Guru - Red Hawk

re-read. I'm a dork and love it. been slowly working my way through it in the background over the course of the year.

cheeky. a fun refresher on things I'd forgotten, and a confidence boost regarding what I remember
34 while homeschooling during a pandemic sounds AMAZING! Plus you got to read some really fun books :)
