Noa Bloom (noa_bloom) | 72 comments What do you guys suggest we should read for our first book? It can be something you have read, or something you have heard about!

Sasha (sashahamel) | 64 comments Perhaps The Great Gatsby? I've been wanting to read it for a while.

Noa Bloom (noa_bloom) | 72 comments As all of you know I have set up a poll based on your suggestions for our first book! Currently we are tied! We have one more member joining, so she will make the last vote. please keep in mind that this poll only goes to the 5th of January (when we will pick our first book!). We will most likely have around a week to read it (depending on its length and how much time you guys need). I hope this gave you a little insight about what will be happening!

Sasha (sashahamel) | 64 comments Sounds good, but just one thing. At ESMS, we are currently doing book clubs, plus our own side books, which would mean Kate, Maya, and I would be reading three books. Because of this, maybe we could have two weeks to read it? (Just for this one round. After that, a week sounds good.)

Sasha (sashahamel) | 64 comments Other than that, sounds good! I am very excited for our member! Is it Pia?

I would be more than happy to read either Hope and Other Punch Lines or All American Boys. A week sounds fine for me, but I am fine with however long people need. One quick question - after we read the book, will we meet up to talk about it? Or will it happen on here?

Noa Bloom (noa_bloom) | 72 comments To Sasha: I totally understand! If you are juggling a lot right now we can totally read the book a bit slower. in addition, yes our new member will be Pia! :)

To lily: I think we will have the discussion on a discussion page similar to this (but not this exact one). The conversation won't necessarily be all of us online on once, however I think for a couple days we will have an on going conversation. So on one day you might write an idea, and the next day several people might respond and add on. I think this might be the easiest way since we won't all be free on one day. In addition, once it gets a bit bigger this might work best as well. I hope that made sense and if not let me know!

Sasha (sashahamel) | 64 comments "Hey you guys! I added my friend Izzy from Salk! She is super awesome and I know you guys will love her! She's also a huge reader, and she has great book suggestions! As we start our first book I think we can start adding some more people -so if you have anyone in mind reach out to them! (and if you don't have anyone in mind its no problem!) I hope this is okay, and I can't wait to start our first book!

Noa"

YAY! Welcome, Izzy!! Is this the Izzy I met or the Izzy I've heard A LOT about? Either way, WELCOME!!

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Sounds good! As I told Noa yesterday, I sent out a text to some of my friends from school about possibly joining. Still awaiting responses. I will add them as soon as possible.

message 10: by Sasha (new)

Sasha (sashahamel) | 64 comments Should I message ESMS people about it, too? I was thinking I could invite people after we read our first book, but whatever works for you guys is what I shall pursue.

message 11: by Noa (new)

Noa Bloom (noa_bloom) | 72 comments That would be awesome!

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Should we start the book this week and let people join while we're reading it?

message 13: by Noa (new)

Noa Bloom (noa_bloom) | 72 comments That sounds good! however, this might mean they have a bit less time to read it! also, when adding someone try to send a group email on Goodreads (I can show you how to do that) introducing the person :)

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

I’m going to try and get it from the school library tomorrow, but it looks like a relatively quick read and I’ll have two weeks to get through it. Maybe for the first round the time can be a little looser and it’ll just be when everyone is done, not a specific date?

message 15: by Noa (new)

Noa Bloom (noa_bloom) | 72 comments that sounds really good!how about I will set a "date" for a everyone to aim for, but then people can start discusions when they Finnish?
