Yay, I am extremely excited to read this series! I just requested Beautiful Creatures from my library today.
I read this series a few years ago, when I started college. I did enjoy them. But, I don't recommend watching the movie. It didn't reach expectations.
My copy finally came in on the ninth and I just finished the two other books I had been reading, so I wil start Beautiful Creatures today.

I am currently reading Beautiful Creatures. I'm really enjoying it, I love how the supernatural elements are coming in to play. I hope to be done with it by the end of this week, and to start the sequel, Beautiful Darkness as soon as I am finished.
I read Beautiful Creatures when it first came out. I really liked it. I did feel like the author did a very good job with the first book. I really enjoyed the world and how the main character really stood out and was pretty much an outcast outside of her home. I did feel bad for her at times. Especially when she had to deal with her family and the magic she possessed.
I remember that the second book gave me a bunch of "OMG, what is happening?" type of thoughts. I love it when books do that. It was so hard to put it down during that time.
I just finished Beautiful Creatures last night and I can't wait to read the sequel. Fortunately I have my copy right in front of me. My favorite characters were Lena, Marion, Amma, and Ridley. I am extremely curious to see what happens to them next. I also liked how the book talked about grief and the different ways it affects people.
**** SPOILER****The library scenes were some of my favorites. From the part at the mortal library where Marion and Ethan read the quotes out of the books on the floor and realised that books related to what was currently going on in their own time, to the Lunae Libri with it's hidden entrance and tunnels that seemingly go on forever. I could fee the appreciation and love for libraries very heavily in this book and I enjoyed it a lot.
