Mysteries this month. Daring Ladies of Lowell by Kate Alcott, the Ghost of Blackwood Lane, and Swan Song.
#27 (end of November) The City of Bones by Cassandra Clare#28 The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd. FANTASTIC historical fiction about the abolitionist movement and the Grimke sisters in Charleston. Be sure to read the author's note at the end. I did not mind the "liberties" the author took, and her comments were quite informative.
29. David S. Hawes: The Best of Kin Hubbard: Abe Martin's Sayings and Wisecracks, Abe's Neighbors, His Almanack, Comic Drawings. My latest book for Indiana Voices. Abe Martin humor features ran in the Indianapolis News in the early 20th century.30. Mark Henrikson: Origins. A book I downloaded to the Kindle for free via BookBub, an email service and web site that finds discounted eBooks. Okay thriller but pretty plain and perdictable.
I am working on The Snow Child, Cry for the Strangers, and At Home: A Short History of Private Life. When I am done with these, I am hoping to finish the year with Revival.I believe these are books 82 through 85 for me. Adding audio books to my repertoire has really upped my reading volume!
141. NAMES ABOVE HOUSES by Oliver de la Paz142. MEMORIES OF MY MELANCHOLY WHORES by Gabriel García Márquez
143. SEVEN BAD IDEAS: HOW MAINSTREAM ECONOMISTS HAVE DAMAGED AMERICA AND THE WORLD by Jeff Madrick
144. WINTER AMNESTIES by Elton Glaser
145. THE EVIL B. B. CHOW by Steve Almond
146. KA-CHING! by Denise Duhamel
147. THE FLAMINGO RISING by Larry Baker
148. THRALL by Natasha Trethewey
149. WILLING by Scott Spencer
150. NIGHT OF THE AVENGING BLOWFISH by John Welter
Will that one be the last or can you finish another by midnight? Also, what do we do starting tomorrow? I guess we go back to the January discussion board . . .
I'm done. I don't know about January. What are your reading plans for 2015. At this point, I think 100 books might be a more balanced target for me. I knew 26 wouldn't be challenging enough but 156 became too restrictive. It was, however, an interesting and informative experience.
