No post now...I will start the book today. I was waiting for you. I put this book as my SS choice too.

OMG. P, you finished it?
I am just on Chapter 4.
It's been 2 years since I read Easy, so I have forgotten a lot. I don't remember why Landon Lucas "LL" is so mad at his dad.
I also forgot he was 13 years old when he lost his mom. In a way, it's almost like a new story for me. I am glad you liked it

I wanted to add that this is the way I like sequel POV books to be done. A separate story but key moments from book 1 touched upon barely.
I don't want a regurgitation of a book I already read.

That's one of the things I enjoyed the most about this book.
Man,
LL seemed so together in book 1. I didn't know he was cutting up like that (view spoiler)
3 generations (view spoiler)
Why won't his father let him get counseling????
I like how LL is besties with the guy who tried to kick his ass

As usual, I loved Jacqueline and Lucas. It was great to see his POV in some places in their relationship. Enjoyed the past story too. Loved his best friend Boyce. The Hellers family were great. Never made Lucas feel like an outsider.
Melody was a total bitch.
I never understood his dad's refusal for counseling. The Hellers were good to them. Loved their kids.
Boyce graduated too but stayin the town won't be good for him. I love how he stood up fir him with Clark Richard and Melody Dover.
Principal Ingrim was awful. She could have broken Landon. She should leave that high school and find another job.

Am I the only one that wants a Boyce and Pearl story?
I never understood his dad's issue with letting Landon get counseling either. Made no sense, but I think maybe it was a reflection of him. He didn't want to talk about it, so he didn't want Landon to talk about it either.

I want a Boyce and Pearl story too. And yes Principle Ingram was a shame to the whole community of teachers.
He was lost and alone. Then he found her.
And the future seemed more fragile than ever.
As a child, Landon Lucas Maxfield believed his life was perfect and looked forward to a future filled with promise — until tragedy tore his family apart and made him doubt everything he ever believed.
All he wanted was to leave the past behind. When he met Jacqueline Wallace, his desire to be everything she needed came so easy…
As easy as it could be for a man who learned that the soul is breakable and that everything you hoped for could be ripped away in a heartbeat.
