Okay, it's that time of year - time to choose the best books of the year. What are your best books of 2014? (Books don't have to be published in 2014 to qualify - just the best books you read in 2014.)

In no particular order, I would choose Donna Tartt's The Goldfinch, Erika Johansen's The Queen of the Tearling, Robin LaFevers' Grave Mercy, Greer Macallister's The Magician's Lie,Jessie Burton's The Miniaturist, and M. J. Carter's The Strangler Vine. There are a few more, but I don't want the list to get too long.
