20.10 - Goodreads Feature - Elizabeths' Task:
Read a book listed in the "Readers Also Enjoyed" section on the book page of any of the 2014 RwS Group reads: Winter 13/14 Group Reads, Spring 2014 Group Reads, Summer 2014 Group Reads, OR Fall 2014 Group Reads

The Readers Also Enjoyed section is on the upper right side of each book page. The section title can be clicked to open up all of the options (ex: Tenth of December).

The lists are very fluid, and books that appear today, might not be there by this weekend, even. I suggest you post in this thread as soon as you see a book you think is even a remote chance of your wanting to read for this task - even if you think you won't get to it until late in the challenge, if at all. You will have reserved your options.

I have been looking at the list when you click on the header, and apparently there is a different selection if you click through the arrows. When posting below, please let me know if you clicked through the arrows or clicked the header. Thank you!

okay I chose The Crystal Cave from Summer 2014 group read and I want to read "Guuenevere, Queen of the Summer Country from the Reader's Also Enjoyed list.

No. If you decide in January you want to look at the lists again, then you are free to do so. You do need to post here as soon as you think you will want to read a title, because, well, they sometimes go away.

From 20,000 Leagues there is a connection to A Journey to the Center of the Earth. My question is that the linked book is an illustrated adaptation of the Jules Verne novel. Does this mean the true "Journey" by Verne wouldn't work?

Sorry, I missed the question part. Yes, as many books per group reads title and you can fit in the challenge is fine.

You are correct that The Journey to the Center book is not the Verne title, but an adaptation. The adaptation by Howard J. Schwach is OK, but not the Verne title.

I also have a some more questions.

Can we use books that have been approved for other members?

Will we be able to claim combo points for this on other tasks? For example, if I use the Unsworth book for the elder's task, can I claim this as a combo? You didn't say we couldn't in the task, but it adds another level of complication. Maybe the computer program takes care of this, but just curious.

Yes. All books are for all members. We're doing it this way because the lists are so fluid, that pre-loading titles didn't seem the most efficient way this time.

Yes, this task can be used for combos.
