I have just started binge listening to your Podcast, great stuff and totally invaluable as I take my first baby keystrokes into the world of writing. Thank you.
I have been kicking around a story in my head for the past few years and in 2019 finally starting putting some words together, although most of that time has been spent doing research.
You had mentioned in one of your recent podcasts that you would be open to giving some advise - I would love to get your thoughts (and maybe those of some of the group's members) on the opening 2k words of my first book. I hope this is the correct place to ask?
In terms of what feedback I am looking for, if you don't mind I'll steal some of the questions you noted in a reply to another member.
- Does the start of the story grab you and draw you in?
- Do the characters I introduce seem coherent and real to you, do you feel you understand who they are?
- Do you feel that you would want to continue reading?
Thank you in advance for any and all feedback.
(Update: I had initially pasted the whole 2k words into this post but I have now removed it and think it may be better to email it to you instead.)
