Do you find yourself reading more or less over the holidays? What are you reading this month?

taylor (twoods93) | 16 comments Not that it's the holidays but I have discovered that I read more in the winter months than the summer. I believe it has to do with how it gets darker earlier and my brain just flips a switch and it's like I have more reading time? Or I'm in "reading mode" for more hours.

Bdmink | 41 comments I usually read more during the winter months, but right now am working so much mandatory overtime I finding I am reading less.

taylor (twoods93) | 16 comments Forgot to add I just finished The Winter People by Jennifer McMahon (I believe that's how you spell it) and it was awesome! Pretty sure my next book will be Horns by Joe Hill!

Dorothea | 38 comments I'm definitely reading more. Going through Patterson's Women's Murder Club series. Just finished The Fifth Horseman. I agree with Taylor, less daylight, more reading time!

This month I'm reading The Shining by Stephen King. I've seen the movie a couple of times, of course--and recently became interested in reading it after finally finishing The Stand which was good but.........dauntingly long. I'd read somewhere that King was appalled by the film which made me roll my eyes. And then I started reading the book and I realized: good movie, but it's an absolute caricature of the book!

Right now is a slow reading time for me. Instead of listening to audiobooks I am listening to Christmas music. I am also binge watching tv shows on Netflix, which cuts into my reading time.

Still working on my Faith Hunter book.

Diana | 9 comments I have a few Christmas books to read. I'm in the middle of Elin Hilderbrand's 'Winter Street' right now. Sure hope these characters get it together before Christmas!

Pam (psvogt) | 31 comments Amy - Me too! I listen to Christmas music instead of audiobooks in the car and Christmas decorating, baking, and shopping all cut into my free time for reading. :(

Pam (psvogt) | 31 comments I did manage to slip in The Soloist - read it a long time ago, but it's my book club selection for tonight's discussion!

Laura (tenacioussnails) | 3 comments I am listening to "The Friday Night Knitting Club" by Kate Jacobs. I was never much of an audiobook listener before I began to commute recently and now, it is about all the free time I have!

Maria | 0 comments Great books! There are two more to follow after that one. Knit Two and Knit the Season. Enjoy!

message 13: by Maria (new)

Maria | 0 comments I finished Leaving Time by Jodi Piccoult. Enjoyed it very much. Now I am reading The Hurricane Sister by Dorothea Benton Frank. So far so good.

message 14: by Ren (new)

Ren (lestatsoul) I tend to read more in the Fall and Winter. Presently, I'm reading Cold Mountain! :D

Chloe (chloe36) | 21 comments Luckily, I am able to read more over the holidays, because I have a break from school and homework. Right now I'm reading The Silkworm and Confessions of a Murder Suspect. I love the Cormoran Strike novels by Robert Galbraith AKA my favorite author J. K. Rowling! It's really good so far. And I usually like James Patterson's YA novels, so I can't wait to get into it! Maria, I've read The Shining, but I didn't like it very much near the end. And Jodi Picoult is a really good writer!
