Eliza tapped his shoulder with a knife. "What a fool... Nearly getting me killed by your own stupid selfish means." She trailed the knife across the back of his neck, lightly, almost teasingly. "I ought to gut you and save myself any future trouble."
Jordan just smiled and held out his hand "Don't worry about her" He said as a couple of people started to get up. Jordan turned and looked up at her "If you kill me you will be back in prison and on the gallows" He stated simply
"You underestimate me. It's perfectly acceptable for a noble to hunt down an annoying peasant and kill them. That's not what I'm here for, anyways."
Jordan laughed "Yes but what about the others? I know you past, remember" He said his eyes glowing forcing the memory of prison out
She shrugged, having her own magical barriers up. However, faint remembrances of being chained and tortured slipped into her mind. She discarded them easily; Eliza was tough. "They chose me because of my past."
"Yes but do you know my past?" He asked "How do you think I was able to disable most of the guards at once?" He asked
She shrugged. "You're an annoying memory wizard. I don't care. Those who linger on the past don't have much of a future, do they?"
Jordan laughed "Please, don't be an idiot, if you think you have suffered you have no idea of pain" He said simply
((have to go))
((have to go))
"I don't care about pain or my past. All that matters is the future, and learning from the past, not dwelling on it. That makes you irrelevant, at least to me."
Jordan look at her and laughed "People like you make me laugh, thinking that the past doesn't matter to them"
"Not to me." She shrugged, standing and drinking the last of a glass of ale. "You're a fool, and you're going to get yourself killed."
Jordan laughed "I am a fool? I would just like to say..." He stoped midsentence and started to shake violently, instantly someone carried him over to a chair and kept him up right
Jordan shook his head and stared up at the person who helped him "Thank you, I am fine" He said as he looked away he looked back at Eliza "Sorry that happened, a...Problem I have with my past, any what I was saying is that I have yet to meet someone who is not influenced by their past, you included"
Jordan looked at her "You missed heard me, I said influenced, the past defines who you are, it says everything about you to an extent, the reason why you do anything is related to something in your past, even trying make a new start"
"Because I am." And she ruled the majority of the rebellion, those who would take up arms and fight.
"You did it because you had no choice, you think their plans are harebrained and you try to perfect them, you are a powerful leader and a brilliant mind"
"I did it because they threatened to hang me. I'm not perfectionist enough to risk my own neck for a rebellion with a slim shot at success. Better die later than sooner, I say, though."
"You would because I know all your secrets, I am a dangerous enemy, you wouldn't for 2 reasons, 1. is that if I am your ally I can find almost anything out for you, and 2 is that well lets just say who do you think the other 9 value more? Me or you?"
Jordan shrugged "Well, just to let you know I am going to hide for a bit, where not saying but this is your last chance for a while"
"I don't care. But don't you ever come near me and try to uncover me again, or I'll wring your filthy old neck myself."
Jordan laughed "Is it my fault you decided to call the guards? Oh before I leave I will show you something" His eyes glowing "And don't think your magic defence will stop me, my magic as it does no actual damage to you I can bypass it" forcing a memory onto her as the bar started to dissolve for him
((Yes. Sorry, I just finished my study guide, now I need to read 150 pages, do a quiz, write out two drafts, study for a test, and prepare for a late starting class Tuesday.))
((It's fine, just sometimes on goodreads people don't get notifications, so should I describe the memory))
((Okay, sorry for long wait mum asked me to help clean))
The bar dissolved for the 2 of them and they entered into what looked like a 3 metre by 3 metre cell, dark with a unknown fluid spilled on the ground, a dirty pile of hay that seem to move on its own a young man, looking about 15 extremely thin and tired just stared straight ahead, he seemed to be holding his side and leaned against it, you can hear multiple voices speaking all at once, all talking about horrible things, as they entered the man looked up as mouldy bread was thrown into the cell and he scrambled to eat it

((Sokay, I have HW, so I'm slower.))She frowned. "I don't believe this is my memory." She leaned up against the bar and took a relaxed seat before it totally dissolved, so her body wouldn't be exhausted, or fall and hit itself while she was in dreamland.
"Voices speaking on execution and the like." In ways, it was no different than her own experience in the King's prisons.
Jordan shook his head "No don't listen to their voices, focus on the young man it should help" He said shaking his head, the memory hurt him, she should be able to as it is a memory, she should be able to hear them think about how much fun it was to...do what ever they did to their victim to hear how non regretful they were
She focused. "He's just a boy. It's you, isn't it?" It was his memory after all, she was sure. "He's starved, abused, beaten."
Jordan nodded "Not just that, imagine for a second will you of being able to hear the darkest thoughts of the most hardened criminals, all their memories open for you to read, just having it open to you and hearing day and night, also imagine that your own parents are there making fun of you saying you deserve to be here, all for doing magic" Jordan stopped talking and started to breath heavy
She shrugged. "I wouldn't know. I'd like to imagine better of my own parents. It seems to have happened a long time ago. Why haven't you cut your emotions from your past yet? It happened. Deal with it in the way you fulfill that part of your life. Revenge, forgiveness, talking it through, I don't know, and move on to the future."
Jordan laughed "Yes oh so very weak of me right? Well I have met individuals much worst than me, and guess what this actually affected me physically, remember me shaking in the bar? I get flashbacks and can't move" He looked at her "You think me weak because of this but guess what? just because you deny being affective by your past doesn't mean it is not true, who you are, your personality who you are, even the part of you who denies it are all based on your past, and tell me even though you don't want to how long do you think you could stay like this while staying sane?" He asked you pointing around the room
