Does anyone else love this charming devil or do y'all hate him?

He is charming, yes, but he is also cruel and callous and selfish. He used Mackenzie and I think he is slightly psychotic. But I do admit that before he revealed his true intentions, he was quite alluring.
True. Honestly, Owen was the only character that I remembered after a while. I think that he means well but that the Archive has distorted his sense of justice and of right and wrong. Mackenzie and Owen reacted differently when their siblings died but they were in the same shoes. I think that's why they clicked so well. Both of them were broken. Owen seriously thought that he's the hero, the good guy, in this so I wouldn't be to harsh on him. He didn't do what he did just for the hell of it or because he's evil. He did it because he saw the Archive as evil and manipulative. What he is, is a result of the Archive's influence on him. I understand where your coming from though. In the second book, he showed that he's not black or white but that he's gray. I'm not excusing his behavior. He didn't have to do what he did. I'm just trying to analyze him.
