Finn vs. Loki Dispute

Beware of Spoilers: For those out there that were disappointed with Wendy's love choice at the end of the book, maybe I can clear up some things. I completely understand that Finn was her first love. First love are the hardest to get over. She put all of her effort into trying to be with him, but every time he appears to choose her over his job, he doesn't. Finn always chose to never to give up his job and we can't make him love Wendy more mainly because he's a fictional character. Wendy can't make him love her if he doesn't want to give up something important to him. I understand Wendy is important to him too, but it seems she is more of an after-thought. His sole focus was protecting her- her bodyguard. That's it. Wendy would've eventually noticed this and had to move on, and she did...with Loki. If she didn't move on that the back and forth "I love you, but we can't be together because of social class and constant arguing" isn't healthy for either of them. In the end they probably would've resented each other for who-knows-how-long if both of them didn't move on. Feel free to share your opinion, but I have no intentions to start fights and arguments, only a discussion.
I believe that Loki was right for Wendy mainly because he actually wanted to be with her and love her in a way that Finn could not. Finn was incapable of loving Wendy because of his job and social stats. Wendy needed someone who could rule with her and love her. Finn knew nothing about ruling and Wendy didn't love Finn as much as she loved Loki. plus Loki was willing to die for Wendy and Finn was not. Finn's job was to protect Wendy. Just my opinion. I am also open to other ideas.
The books could have benefited from more of a exploration of the Loki relationship. But I thought it was good as it was. The book was more about her accepting her true identity and her role. Political marriages are more common then we like to imagine. In this case they had a lot in common, were friends, and had similar beliefs. Not all love is instant, in fact the best ones often aren't. But I believe they genuinely cared for each other and that their relationship had great potential.
Also first love and true love are often twisted together in young hearts, but are two very different ideas. I think her love of Finn had more to do with fitting in, initially. Then he became her only link to her past. She loved him, but it was a comfort/puppy love way. Not an enduring one.
I only think Loki was right for Wendy because I really could tell he really loved her. Otherwise, I didn't like him....or Finn. Finn was infuriating and although Loki was supposed to be all slick and sarcastic and all that, I didn't quite get that idea from reading about him.
