OK, I'll admit it, I loved this story....a little fairytale, a little life. The characters were well described and I found that I was interested in each of them and how they interacted - husband/wife, father/daughter, mother/daughter, daughter/boyfriend etc.
5 stars: What a kind and magical story. It reminded me that even though life is hard and sad there are things that are magical, romantic and beyond explanation in it. Things that are hard to explain and even harder to figure out, but we must keep moving forward and be hopeful to experience them.
I mist admit I was going to give this one a miss but now I'm intrigued haha maybe after christmas I'll give it a go
I really enjoyed this book. The story was bittersweet from start to finish which, I think, really added to the magical realism of the plot.
I enjoyed this story and love the fact that we are left wondering what is real and what is fantasy. I guess that is the second book club book in a row where we are left guessing . . .
It was slow at a couple of points for me, but that is a very, very small issue.
