Anna Our first ever Autobiography Competition is underway! This is totally a test, as I've never done this type of contest before, but here we are anyway :P Let me know if I'm doing it wrong; I think the rules will be more flexible for this one.

1. Same rules throughout the group matter here too.

2. Try to keep all entries a reasonable length.

3. Contest starts NOW (2/4/20) and will end in a week (2/10/20).

4. Let us know which character you chose in the title of your work, and what book it is from.

© There will be no stealing of anyone's stories/work. We should all be mature enough to respect that if we are entering a contest. ©

description

"An autobiography is one type of biography, which tells a life story of its author, meaning it is a written record of the author's life. Rather than being written by somebody else, an autobiography comes through the person's own pen, in his own words." (Thank you, literarydevices.net!)

So in this case, since I'm not sure you all want to write an autobiography about yourselves and give away that sort of stuff, you can choose a character from a book (The Bible, a chapter book, or whatever) and write an autobiography about them. Put yourself in their shoes and write as if you were that person.

I hope this makes sense; if not, please let me know!

GET STARTED!

Laura-Lee (lauraleewashere) | 49 comments What a great creative twist to an autobiography. Pretend your someone else then write an autobiography as THAT person. Love it.

Yes and no; as long as your autobiography ends up being, as long as it isn't pages and pages or only like three or four sentences. Try to at least have a good solid paragraph.

message 5: by Anna (new)

Anna Not necessarily. You could just maybe do a main event, or the whole life. It's up to you!

message 6: by Annabelle (new)

Annabelle | 3 comments Aysel (uh-zel) was only four years old when it happened. Her mother lied to her and her two younger siblings. "I'll be back soon, sweetie" Isabel (Aysel's mother) would reply. "I'm always going to return for you" Then, Isabel left and sprinted out of the neighborhood as if she'd just seen a ghost. "Mom!" Aysel wailed, "Mom, come back!" Aysel's younger siblings, Lexi and Henry, did not know what had happened. "Aysel, is mommy mad at us?" Lexi asked hesitantly. "what did we do?" Aysel was a little shaken herself because there would be nobody to take care of them. "I have to grow up," she said under her breath. "I have to grow up and take care of you until Mom returns." And then, she walked into the kitchen to make dinner.

****two years later: Aysel: age 6. Henry: age 2. Lexi: age 4****

While watching the news, Aysel saw a familiar face. "mom", her head felt light and her thought slowed as she watched her mother being shoved into a police car. A sudden hatred for her mother flared in her chest as she threw the remote across the living room. "I have news about Mommy, Lexi." And then they talked.

"We can't stay here?" Lexi was very troubled at the idea of them moving away from their only home. "Where will we go?" For four years old, Aysel could tell Lexi had grown remarkably smarter. "We will move to Aunt Margret's house." Aysel's voice quivered just a little bit. "And she will take care of us because she loves us. Because her sister has been accused of murder"

Then a blue sky turned crimson and gunshots fired, Lexit and Henry lay on the grass with red chests. Aysel watched her siblings die. It was all her fault. "I will find out who did this. And then I will kill them with my bare hands"

Annabelle | 3 comments This is a slightly different story than my own. I did not watch my siblings die but, they did suffer quite a bit. the rest is true and I just used different names. I hope the story is good enough.

Wait so can we speak in 1st person? Like, "I did this and I did that?"
I'm so sorry if the answer is so obvious!!! Sometimes I am pretty oblivious.

message 9: by Anna (new)

Anna Any "person" besides second, which would be "you." So "I, she, he" are all fine. :)

I've never done this before so I was really nervous writing it, but here goes. This was the only character I could think of so I apologize if you don't like him.

Title: Keefe
Character: Keefe Sencen [some of you know who this is haha]
Series: KOTLC

I was the dream boy. In Foxfire, the girls would swoon around. I was the trickster. I created the Great Gulon Incident, though I don’t admit it. The girls would never suspect that I have daddy issues.

I then met Sophie. Who knew she would change my life? I went from being the boy that would make someone laugh to someone who was part of 2 plans: Sophie’s and my mom’s.

Oh, did I mention that I have mommy issues too?

I was built for something. My Legacy, I suppose, as my mom calls it. Even though I’m popular, as popular as Fitzy, no one would suspect I ever had the need to be just a normal boy.

A normal boy with stunning hair of course. I can’t forget about the hair.

I never knew what would happen when I joined the Black Swan. The experience changed me. It didn’t change my natural, trouble-maker mentality, but I felt apart of something.

Apart of something other than being popular with the girls and the teachers. Apart of being a regular attender to detention.

I’m the one who breaks the silence with my [hilarious] jokes. And I’m the one who brings the silence when I’m facing off against my mom.

Really, you should be thanking me. Here’s how you do it: (view spoiler)

Ode to Keefe Sencen, that brave lovable nut.
He may not have teal eyes,
But he has a really cute smirk.

Sure, my life has its ups and downs. I mean, I have to physically fight my mom. But here’s what I always say when it gets hard: (view spoiler)

“Woah-Back the t-rex up!”

Does this competition end today, Anna?

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Could you please wait for me a bit while I finish my biography?
(If it is okay, I mean)☺

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

It is 23:30 here in China, so I'll probably finish it 6:30 tomorrow morning.☺

message 17: by Anna (new)

Title: Joy in Tribulation
Resource: the Bible
Character: Paul

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God, unto all the saints of Jesus Christ, Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

Dear brethren, as I have now reached my end in this world, I can boldly say that I have suffered much for Christ. Throughout my life, I have experienced persecutions and hardships, sometimes even to the point of death. But I want to remind you, my beloved, the joy we have in Christ during those times. Though we were persecuted, but the love of Christ has given us a joy far much greater than any hardship or tribulation. In trials, it was not our faith that delivered us, but Jesus upon whom we have put our faith. Many times, God has delivered us from the world, not so that we may live according to the flesh, but that we might be witnesses for Him.

I still remember the time when Silas and I were preaching in Philippi, a city in Macedonia. It was one day while we were praying there, that a demon-possessed damsel came to us and cried saying, "These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation." This I did not take heed at first, but as the days went past, she cried on and on about this, so at last I could not stand it anymore. In the name of Jesus, I commanded the demon to come out. And it came out of her. But I guess it displeased some people, because her masters caught us and brought us right to the magistrates, claiming that we were spreading a false doctrine (only God knows). So we were beaten, locked, and thrown into prison.

At about midnight in the prison, Silas and I prayed and sang praises to God. It is not that the prison is a comfortable place, but that we were tortured for Christ. It was truly a blessing to be persecuted for Christ. But just as we were singing, the grounds suddenly shook with so great a force that immediately all the doors of the prison were opened, and all of our bands were loosed. And the keeper of the prison came; he was utterly dumbfounded when he saw the spectacle before his eyes. For him, he supposed that all had escaped, so death seemed to be his only way. As he drew out to kill himself, I cried with a loud voice unto him saying, “Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.” He fell down before me, trembling, asking us how can he be saved. And we replied, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Thereafter he invited us to his house, and we, being free, spoke to him of the Gospel. Thanks be unto God, for as he and his family heard the message, they all believed with a full heart. And the next day, we were “officially” released from our imprisonment in Philippi.

From this, my beloved, you can see how the Lord works in every way, even in our Philippian imprisonment. Just as I had once said to the Roman Believers, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” So what should we do when tribulation comes? Pray and give thanks to God, do not despair because He always has His plans. Even as I now write to all of you in prison from Rome, so I can say that “neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
