I have to say this... I really liked The Name of the Wind, and I enjoyed the first half of The Wise Man's Fear, but now as I am closer to the end (about 80% through), I can say that I feel this one dragged on a bit. I feel many scenes could've been shorter / removed altogether - although I'm unsure whether or not completely removing them would affect the overall storyline. I guess I'll find out once I finish.
After finishing this one two days ago, I can't say that I liked it as much as the first.
Overall, I felt it was entertaining. A lot of things happened in this book (my copy is 1105 pages!) but nothing really to progress the story.
I am VERY curious as to what Rothfuss will do for the third and final installment of the trilogy. Perhaps this is why it's taken this long to publish?

I will say, I have a favourite passage from this novel: The chapters where Kvothe meets and lays with Felurian (one in particular is called "The Fire Itself"). The prose in these chapters is pure poetry.
