PNR & UF Group Oct Challenge1 - Choose from the following list of themes, and read a book for your chosen theme (Witches, Werewolves, Vampires, Ghosts, Ghouls):
Wizard's Daughter by Catherine Coulter
2 - Read a book with one of the following (or a combination) on the cover (Pumpkin, The color orange, People (or animals) in costumes):
Murder, She Wrote - Trick or Treachery by Jessica Fletcher
2.
by Heather Graham (for the orange color and *added bonus* of the word "Harvest" in the title. heehee)
I think I'm going to find a book for every theme. Anyone have any suggestions for ghoul books though? I'm drawing a blank.
Oh wait, nevermind. I just did a search on Amazon and it pulled up Jeaniene Frost's books. Off to make my list ...
♥Tricia♥ wrote: "Yeah and her books are GOOD :D"I've read the first two so far and thought they were ok. I think the storylines fell flat at times and Cat can be kind of a bitch but I liked the 2nd book enough to want to read the next. I hear the 3rd and 4th are really good.
I adored them all :D Course I am getting tired of sex all of the time so they were a refreshing read.
Not that they are sexless.. but just not littered with them so it made the scenes super good :D
One of the best sex scenes I have read actually came from Frost.

Ok, now I'm hung up on the costume theme. How would you know the character is in a costume without having read the book? Any examples?
No that one is a costume on the cover :)
First set is themed book, second is whats on the cover :D

Oh I know you meant the cover. I'm still having trouble with it. Do you have an example maybe or any suggestions? And I don't know if I'll read them all, I just really like making lists. Lol.
Oh! Sorry! I will start some searching for you :)
BTW I know our group is Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy, but you dont need to keep to that restriction :)
I will post some suggestions when I find them.

♥Tricia♥ wrote: "Oh nice! You found a costume one! That was giving me a hard time lol."Yeah, it was really tough. I was scrolling through my books and it caught my eye. It's a hard theme, you made me work for that one! Pumpkin wasn't easy either but I got lucky and didn't have to search too much.
Yeah hehe I didnt mean to make it so hard :P
Btw, you dont need to read ALL categories! lol
Only one from each list from #1 and #2 hehe

All those book were on my to-read shelf anyway so I'm going to at least attempt to read them all. Who knows what will happen though, with school and all. Last month I read 12 books so I'm hoping 8 isn't too many. I've only read 4 this month so far though and there's only a week and a half left! So 8 might be stretching it ... but I guess we'll see! I like a challenge!

So far I do like the start of Witch Fire. The characters have strong distinct personalties. Sometimes PNR can be very cookie cutter but I am liking the beginning.
