Great idea, Val! Thanks for creating this thread. :DRemember, for the A-Z game, you can use 'HH' (Helping Hand) in 5 different spots, if you're unable to find a supernatural creature/being to use.
For a variety of shifters, fae, vampires, demons, and witches, the Others series by Christine Warren. She has a new series with gargoyles. Both series are PNR. Another author with a variety of shifters is Shelly Laurenston (including Arctic foxes, hyenas, honey badgers, and hybrids). PNR. Dana Marie Bell's Gray Court series has vampires and a wide variety of fae (pookahs, hobgoblins, sylphs, selkie, mermaids, etc.)-also PNR.

You reminded me Lis. Lots of Eve Langlais's books have odd creatures particularly Furry United Coalition
Then there is Zenina Masters's Shifting Crossroads series starting with
which includes ocelots & peacocks, flamingos, deer etc etc. Up to book 24 now, each at novella length.
Haven't found a book with a Q creature. It looks like there is only one I found looking up A-Z paranormal creatures, a Quanlier. I would look at Native American shifter books.(In Cherokee legend, a Quanlier has the head of a wolf, the torso of a man, the arms of a dog and the legs of a jackal. It feeds on human flesh and most small animals. Living in a small area there are very few, in fact there may be only one. It’s a close relation to a werewolf, only it can’t change into a human and when it’s killed it doesn’t turn into a human. It can run at speeds of up to 300 MPH.)
Changeling - Dead HeatHellhound - Unbinding
Imp - When Darkness Ends
Necromancer - Born in Blood or Bound by Flames
Ogre - Dark Skye
Phoenix - Once Bitten, Twice Burned
Remnants - Bound by Flames
Gargoyles: The Stone Society series by Faith Gibson starting with RafaelAlso, a two book series with the most diverse collection of shifters et.al. was penned by Sara King. Alaskan Fire Alaskan Fire It includes a phoenix, werebadger, djinni, thunderbird, dragon, and unicorn as main characters over the course of the storyline.

Q animals:
Questing Beast - appears in many arthurian stories, including The Once and Future King. (Might not be technically PNR/UF, but there's definitely romance and the supernatural involved!)
Quetzalcoatl - an Aztec/Mesoamerican god, form of a giant winged serpent. Also, quetzl or quecal - winged serpents. Two Serpents Rise - used by magic users for transportation.
Qliphoth/Qlippoth/Qelippot or Kelipot - evil spirits from Jewish mysticism.

I'd say the type of paranormal in each of the following series are pretty unusual and well-crafted.
Ecstasy by Jacquelyn Frank(Shadowdwellers #1)
Skye's Trail by Jory Strong(Angelini #1)
Stygian by Nashoda Rose(Scars of the Wraiths #1)

I was wondering if I could have a helping hand with books or series featuring characters other than the usual vampire and werewolves. I have nothing against them but it does not help me for the reading challenge.
Any suggestions?
I'll start!
